I'm not sure if this is my fault, but with the simba.exe downloaded from the link, I get that math error again:

program new;
{$DEFINE SMART}
{$i srl-6/srl.simba}

begin
smartEnableDrawing := True;
setupSRL();
end.

Yet when I use the simba.exe that Olly posted here everything works fine.

Dgby is basing this off some old build, he should be using 655 rather than 649…?

They are the same build… and 655 overwrote the 649 files anyways.

Olly's build is an older version of Simba.

Try rearranging it, "while ((not Valid) and (t < 100)) do" -> "while ((t < 100) and (not Valid)) do".

That will fix it while I work on fixing it in Lape.

Ok that fixed that, but now:

EDIT:

And all the things throughout the rest of the include like:

while (not result) and (t > getSystemTime()) do

only work if rearranged so the result is at the end.

Seems like we need to revert Lape… There is 25+ errors compiling SRL.

When I press on SRL -> Check for Update
Simba closes on me, even when loading as administrator. This is on my main PC running win 7-64 bit .

OK managed to get that tesseract error again. Occurs randomly after a few hours running.

Mayor, Do you know what the tesseract is trying to read when it throws that?

Hi guys here's a folder of everything you need (SRL-6) for rc-3.

It has been a few different things, but I know for sure one time it was looking for the 'Logout' option on the options menu.

Will give new version a try :)

10h+ no errors, so it looks like those tesseract fixes you just done solved whatever it was.

Hi mate, not sure if you caught my last post. I'm really keen to try out this new Simba. But it won't launch for my on Windows 7, I have also tried compatibility mode.
when I click on it, there is no gui but it is in ram.
The original simba does work though..

Your old post was about the updater not working, that's not a big deal currently but if you cant even launch Simba that is…

Do you get a console when you try to open it?

Most likely due to Simba's new auto elevation privileges.. At least, that's what I'd guess.. This new Simba has so many bugs I gave up trying to run anything.

What i was thinking.. Only startup thing that changed.

All these bugs? Please tell my Simba is running quite fine currently. :)

@Syntax

I'm assuming this simba will work for you?

I did notice when I first opened it, simba just went all white and then froze up, but that might be because I've got 3 x simbas on c:/? Since then everything has been fine. That new player manager is sweet!

I never have any issues, and I often have more then 10 versions of Simba, all are stored in "C:/Simba/" under different names, sharing same config-file and all.

I guess we can rule that out then. As I said it only happened once, so probably not that big a deal.

1. while ((not some_bool) and (T > 10)) do is a bug.. Probably the worst of all as it used to compile/work previously.
2. Crash on typing after pressing ctrl+space to bring up the intellisense menu. I don't know. It only happened once.
3. random(X) <– not sure which overload to call.. blah blah.. Probably an include bug.. but still.. It wasn't like that in previous builds.
4. Cannot capture any window for @America19;'s system without plugins. This is the core of Simba. It's supposed to work with AND without plugins.
5. Selecting a window on linux makes it transparent. Upon releasing the crosshairs, the window STAYS transparent and requires you to restart as the mouse gets locked up. Basically, it's as though the mouse is still pressing down on the crosshairs.. Even after releasing, if you move the mouse over any other window, it will be transparent. Releasing it does not UNDO this. Only restarting the computer gets you out of it. You won't be able to click anything.
6. Typing and bringing up intellisense on Linux causes Simba to freeze and asks you whether to wait or kill it.

Bug 4 may not be with this version of Simba but it's a bug for ALL versions of Simba that's only been discovered recently and only happens to one person. ACA works for them so it's of course a Simba bug.

Might reply some more later, but I just don't get how returning data works for 99.99999% but not for one person? Like how does this fail? :s

Could be the same bug Kasi had with Direct-X.. Worked for everyone EXCEPT him.. and it is found here: https://github.com/Brandon-T/DXI/issues/2

Simba does: TWindow.Create -> GetWindowDC but it only releases the DC in TWindow.Destroy -> ReleaseDC

Doing that in Direct-X worked for everyone except Kasi. Whenever I needed the DC, I had to call GetDC, do whatever with it and immediately release it. Otherwise he had a black screen no matter what.

Perhaps Simba needs to do the same but I don't actually know if it'll make a difference for that guy since it only happens to him and only he would be able to test it.

It's weird. I can't really explain it tbh.. I don't know why it works for 99% except for that one guy. But ACA & other progs work works so.. :S

Just have to clear it up a bit / nitpicking:
From: Brandon
random(X) <– not sure which overload to call.. blah blah..

- Only when indexing an array with result of overloaded method will it fail.

I believe we have backed to an older Lape rev while we wait for a fix, this removes Error#1 and Error#3.

From: Brandon
Crash on typing after pressing ctrl+space

- It's AFAIK not crashing simba, it should trow up an error-message with two options.. don't click "quit" and you are good. It will at some point be fixed.

This is good. Didn't know about options.

1 more bug.. Not really a bug but it's annoying as hell! When pressing Ctrl + R and replacing text, as soon as you exit the replacement dialog, Simba will go into the background. You have to bring it back to the foreground via taskbar or desktop windows.

Really really annoying lol.

Lol funny! :-D Reminds me of this old notepad++ bug, where I would do "ctrl+a" > "ctrl+x", and that would resize notepad++ to the "smallest possible" window (something like 50x50px or something). Tho this doesn't seem as irritating as that :-P

That reminds me of when I go to ctrl+c and then instead of ctrl+v I hit ctrl+b by mistake and the simba window re-sizes itself. Haha.

Things that annoy me while scripting in decreasing order of annoyance:

  1. Simba crashing
  2. This
  3. Script taking 5 seconds to compile

Not sure what causes this bug but I was writing a script for someone and everytime "WaitFunc(@some_func, waitTime, totalTime)" was called, it threw an access violation at "func()" inside the "waitFunc" function body.

Had no idea what was wrong.. so I instead used a TTimeMarker and did everything myself :l Worked but no idea why waitfunc doesn't.

Grab SRL-6 from here and try again, https://github.com/SRL/SRL-6/tree/New_Simba

Quite some updates there, I fixed options interface, new minimap set/get angle, new method of finding symbols (I've only updated quest, bank, dungeon, fishing symbols, though new ones are easy to add just copy the whole symbol black out the background and the 'transparent' border pixels. Debug an updated symbol bitmap if you need to see more.)

Sweeeeet, I've just read through the changes, you've done a lot of work :D In my local version I hackily fixed the options + setAngle and a few other things:

worlds.scrollToWorld();

I see you changed the coords for the scroll bar so it didn't scroll right back to the top. One time tesseract misread my world (which was near the top), so it scrolled down, but then it never scrolls right back to the top (so it never found the world). Also the world text colour changed a bit in that update.

https://www.diffchecker.com/rysa1qvc

lobby.getActiveTab();

This wasn't working for me. I think getting the colour of the bottom of inactive tab is more reliable.

What does DeleteOnTerminate() do? (released in simba 1.0 but didnt want to gravedig that thread)

Initially i thought it counteracts AddOnTerminate(), but some tests are showing weird results.
