SRL Archive - S.M.A.R.T.

Hi guys,

As my title states, I cannot get SMART to load.

The top of my script looks like this:

I'm assuming I have that set up correctly.


So far I have:
- This version of Java downloaded
- Set Java to my own path
- Overwritten current plugins with SMART v 8.0 plugins.
- Opened up Simba before loading the script
- Ran Simba as Administrator, however when doing so none of the extensions load nor can I access any folders when trying to open up a script.

The only thing I haven't done is compiled SMART, because it just won't work for me, but I'm pretty sure I don't need it compiled in order for it to load.

Another thing to note is that in the console it states SMART: Failed to pair - No Client by that ID

Any help?

What are the dates on your simba/plugins/smart.jar and/or SmartParams.simba from the includes? (Mine are Aug 3rd / Aug 25th, respectively) Also are you running 32bit Simba + what version or Simba? Just trying to run through some checks :)

By Dates I assume you mean date created right? If so:

SMART.jar: 04 August 2012, 12:31:18
SmartParams.simba: 31 August 2012, 00:59:43

Does flights heavy rodder work for you? What error do you get?

I've helped 4 people in the past 2 days with their SMART's and it was all the same thing, you seem to be getting something different.. and I've never seen it fail to pair.. so maybe you have to tell it to use first available smart ID or something, no idea. (but that's what it does)

Heavy Rodder does not work for me - same issue.

Could it be that I went into SmartParams.simba and changed Line 285, which is this:

Result:= SmartSpawnClient(ReplaceWrap(PluginPath, '\', '/', [rfReplaceAll]), Params[0], ',' + Params[1], 765, 553, 's', '', '', -1)

Into this:

Result:= SmartSpawnClient(ReplaceWrap(PluginPath, '\', '/', [rfReplaceAll]), Params[0], ',' + Params[1], 765, 553, 's', '', '')

I did that because I was getting this:
[Error] E:\Programs\Simba\Includes\SRL/SRL/Misc/SmartParams.Simba(268:134): Invalid number of parameters at line 267
Compiling failed.

I only made the above changes because it fixed the issue, however could it be related to SMART failing to pair because there's "No Client by that ID"?

yea same issue they having

delete the , -1 at the end was the fix, and currently is.. to get smart 8.0 working fine

I have never seen the no client by that ID issue happen.. is that for all scripts after you delete that? or just the script you made? After deleting the -1 for myself & several other users.. all scripts have worked fine


have you closed out all of the simbas & smarts (make sure no smart remotes are running in your processes etc)

It is like that for all scripts. And by that I mean mine and Flight's Heavy Rodder.

All (simba + smart) processes are closed before opening simba and running scripts.

Well, I guess it's just one of those things eh…

FYI, I've re installed like three times so don't suggest that :cartman:

yea I have no idea… hes smart is opening but it crashes instantly, he's on 32bit windows xp java7 and java6 both didn't work

Damn, issue not solved guys :(

I've a machine running windows 32bit xp with java 6 iirc.

I found that I couldn't get Smart to even load on it, but I could still load the official rs client and cross-hair over to it. This is granted, however, that it has an ancient pentium m process and < 1g ram.. Also note worthy = that the RS client will change IDs, from what I experienced, every 10 seconds or so, making me have to drag the cross hairs and press play all under 10 seconds.

Other than that, I have no idea what's up :s

Always post debug output, it'll likely explicitly tell you what went wrong. It'll be in the console window.
