Primal/Slayer Bind hunting

I Created this for all the people (Including me) who might want to get together and find some binds. Binds are very important to your Exp/Hr while you Dung and choosing the right ones can significantly increase experence, decrease deaths, and get you to 99+ that much faster.

For Primal Hunting:

5 man c6 Rushes (on guide mode) of the required bosses floor are usually the way to go. This gives a greater chance of receiving the drop per person, while avoiding lots of time getting to the boss. For a complete list of bosses, their levels, and drops click Here.

For Slayer Hunting:

It has been a controversy for a long time about how these monsters spawn. It is much more likely for a slayer monster to be in the Critical path if there is a slayer who has the level to slay it(or herb level to pot up and slay it). Bonus rooms are another story though, as they can contain any slayer monster. According to Jagex the monsters are now 2x as common as they used to be (updated April 19, 2012) so finding slayer drops is much easier.

SSH- 5:5 Large floors 30-35 are the best way to go WIKI

Blood Necklace- 5:5 Large Warped floors (its possible with Occult) WIKI

HexHunter Bow- 5:5 Large Warped floors with lots of patience.WIKI

See shay's guide if you don't know what to bind http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86297

Just post what you want to find and when you will be available. People who would like to join should reply on this thread with the times they will be available.

Whew, now that I made that post anybody want to go primal battleaxe or Platebody hunting with me? I'm free from 6:45 MST - 11:00 MST today. I will stay as long as it takes for the whole party to get the items.

Soulgazers and Hexhunter bow remains pretty rare. Not sure it's worth hunting them.

So far while leveling I saw like 8 of them and no bow yet.

C6 5:5 smalls are the best for primal gear.

Afaik, the higher warp/floor you access/play, the better the chance at soulgazer spawns .
(I guess this goes for other slayer monsters too, but in specific, this ^ has held true afaik).

These are able to be found if you're solo'ing though right? I would rather just set my iDung to bind a primal plate/axe if it comes across one.

Just a minor correction, it can never be on the critical path if no 1 can slay it without potting. Hence soulgazers can only be on the critical path if there is at least a member with 99 slay (w/o potting).

Also contrary to popular belief, prim pl8 is NOT better than ssh (as of before the EOC update) if you can master the art of ssh (sidestepping, dehooding etc), which would turn ssh equally or even better than pl8 in defensiveness, with added benefits of easier style switching. It do however, require a much higher APM and focus so generally most ppl go for pl8.

Your 3rd bind shd also be an offensive bind (hex>bn>cele/empowered fire staff/prim gauntlet) as 1 defensive bind is sufficient to survive (after u master it)

It depend how you work dung (or play, if you actualy like the minigame).
If you rush, you're better of with pl8.
90% of the time you'll be dehooded.

I'm so glad I destroyed my crap hood and bound a plate instead.

I'm not too sure what you imply by 'rush', but ssh can just be as capable as pl8 (0-1 death) and averages sub-15s. Though like i said, it really requires a lot of focus and skill that can take months/years to master. So usually only those going for 200m dg xp will bother to master it. Things may change quite a lot after EOC though.

By rush I mean, quickly go through room, by only killing what is needed to progress, in order to finish the dungeon as quickly as possible.
If you do that, most of the time, your hood will be useless since there is a mage in almost 1 out of 2 room.

For ramokee, mercenary leader and boss fight, hood is 100% useless.

When I bound my plate, I started to die much less often in those room, and less often pretty much everywhere else.

Remove the hood, kill the mage (preferably with a hex), put on hood again and enjoy 1v1 combat :sasmokin:
That was what i meant by manual 'dehooding'. A lot other techniques that you have to master in order for it to be as effective as a prim pl8.

Not worth the effort.. only to get 'as effective' as primal plate. Heck, even cooking is too much work for me.

IMO use hood until 95 then destroy that thing.
