Can we please stop these new people from applying from day one? They're getting really annoying. Why not limit it to at least 100 posts minimum and 45 days after joining? Just to get them active in the community first.
Please discuss.

While I agree new members shouldn't be applying, your suggested requirements are a little drastic. When I applied and was accepted, I think I had around 60 posts and was part of SRL for around a month.
Maybe a requirement of 50 posts and 3 weeks?

That sounds good too, was just throwing out numbers really. That sounds reasonable to me.

I second this motion!
Make it a requirement that they must be JMs to apply, which currently is at 3 months, which is I'd say a good timing. We could always create a ghost user group 'applicable' for which we'd set the applicants terms, so that if we choose to change JMs perms / restrictions it doesn't affect the member applications.

Whatever the higher ups decide to make the limit is fine, I'm just tired of seeing people apply with 1 post and that's their member application. Or even applying with no script…

That sounds great! In a 3-month period, if they haven't figured out how to apply with a reasonable script, there is no hope for said person.

Or make the application form explicitly say "no script you made? no members! don't apply if this isn't your own script!". At the moment it doesn't say anything like that, so kids with low IQ won't know.

Won't stop them from applying still…unfortunately.

I believe it would still reduce those kind off apps greatly.

I'd say 20 posts and a week is plenty of restriction.
It forces them to look around.
But there are not that many, if you come across one, just report it. We don't always see them immediately.. but we do see the reported threads immediately.

It would be nice to have some kind of barrier though.

Thus, I suggested a smaller one! :D

Can we stop making threads about it? :p

There are more of these threads complaining about applications then there are of the applications they are complaining about! :p
