It is true that I like open source. That doesn't make closed minded; however. It also doesn't say anything about my pride. I don't even see how pride comes into this. I'm sure everyone is proud about the stuff they make, but I don't think I'm anymore proud than others and I surely don't let this affect my decisions too much.

I don't really have anything to say about this. Arguing about a last word is something I used to do when I was a lot younger. These days I realise when I am right and I don't need the last word. However, when setting an example and correcting users on the forum: yes, the staff always has the last word.

I'm not really sure what kind of point you're trying to make. The warning was deserved. I initially wanted to make it an infraction but figured you'd be upset, so I made it a warning instead.

Expecting on more serious reply now. I don't mind it if people flame me, but if you do, do it properly and don't just give me shit.

Wizzup?, you keep repeating that we don't see what's going on in staff, and thus we cannot make judgement upon past cases. Show us what can be shown, which would help us understand, since you blame our false ideas upon a lack of understanding.

I don't see how a quote from the staff forum would matter. You should just assume that whatever I say what happened in the staff forum is the truth. If you really think is an issue (or don't trust me for some reason), I'm sure some ``evidence'' can be dragged in. But no threads will blatantly be copied and pasted. People post in the staff forum with the intention that their posts will only be read by the staff.

I was the OP of the thread in question and I didn't take offense to the "try Simba" suggestion. You get well intentioned but useless replies all the time. Your "be smarter" comment was the response I was politely trying to avoid in my thread when I thanked the poster for their comment before gently suggesting that wasn't what I was looking for. Sucks you would get dinged for that tho. You weren't really that over the top. Wizzup does come off as heavy handed on occasion. Okay maybe a bit more than that.

And yes, like you I like SCAR for the features not yet implemented in Simba. I also like Simba. I believe in using whatever tool meets my needs at the time. Kinda sad how fast they are dropping SCAR support, it still has a ton of great features. But I realized going around calling out the staff for pushing Simba because they are obviously proud of it is the wrong thing to do.

On second thought I'm just staying out of this completely. Why don't you two just meet behind the monkey bars at recess and duke it out.

I'm not choosing sides in the timer -> Srl debate. I don't know how worse his behavior was. I think that we are, or at least I am, curious to know what where things he commonly said/did on these forums which got him banned. And it isn't that I don't trust you, but I don't have much information apart of that both you and footballjds are offensive in your posts.

So maybe you could post a few quotes or links of situations where he crossed the line. Apart from the coming back all the time after a ban(Timer = train = timer.).

Aside from the usual speculation (that stuff about Fakawi banning Timer because a conversation on the internet is obviously not true, there had been a thread for weeks, and the outcome was a ban)

It's exactly this kind of crap that I am opposing to. That's why I made the thread. What you're stating is not true. It's really not true. Timer was banned not for criticizing stuff the community has made (Reflection, Simba), but for having a very bad attitude. There's a difference between criticizing and directly personally attacking people. Of course people take an insult personal if it is a personal attack. He's acts like a cock, he can't make up for the fact that he does, he insults more people, sends very offensive PM's, reports posts with very offensive reasons. Yes, he gets banned. Every other user would have. There is difference between stating your opinion and criticizing and just doing it for the sake of offending people and deliberately making them mad.

If that is the kind of people you want to stand up for, be my guest; but don't count on my sympathy or respect. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech and communism.

A while ago, I (and many other people) have witnessed two people (Not mentioning who, but some people might know) being "permanently banned" and then being let back into SRL under a different username. All the staff know who the original person was and what they did, and got banned for it, but then when they rejoined the admins turned a blind eye against it. If this is the case, why is Timer an exception?

Just to clarify, I am not asking for him to be unbanned or for any other member here to be banned, I am just asking a question

There are certain conditions that will allow you to rejoin. Main one being you have to change and not act the way that got you banned.

Sex (Da Owner), Frement (Mage of Begu), i luffs yeww (ian.), and train (Timer) were all banned, and allowed back in. The difference is that the first three have obeyed the rules and contributed on their second chance, whereas Timer was banned (again) for flaming, trolling etc.. He's already had his second chance.

SandStorm was Hey321. SandStorm was banned again (and still currently is) after he got hacked or something of the sort. Iroki was ManOfCzech or something and was also let back in due to his high amount of contributions, which, as Rich pointed out, is really the difference between Frement/Kyle (Sex)/Me/Iroki and Timer (and possibly soon to be Football as well).

But it's not as if after I/others have returned we just had a clean slate. There are still a number of people who dislike, don't trust, and hold grudges against us. But I'd say it's safe to say we're all doing better or staying neutral for the community than being detrimental. Causing disruption like this is really not something that's helpful or keeps things neutral, and therefore is detrimental more than it is not.

Also, I was a total ass 4 years ago.

IMO timer was smart but dickish and bigheaded he is infamous and his name will echo through out these forums for a long time. BUT, in the vast majority of cases, those that come back try to assimilate and lay low. They intend to participate in the community in a positive way and gain trust under their new account.

Timer came back and flamed the entire SRL community for days/weeks on end. He was provoking people in a completely unnecessary way. Perhaps that sort of behavior is tolerated in other communities, like scamming and leeching is tolerated in other communities, but this community is different.

Maybe Timer is already back under another pseudonym, who knows? If so, he must have learned his lesson because since then we haven't had the sort of drama and flaming that he was instigating at the time.

I don't understand how people can LIKE the SRL community, but DISLIKE the way staff shape it? The SRL staff is a big part of what makes this community the way it is.

I would just like to point out that when Timer came back unknowingly as Train, he did not do much to disturb the peace. I'm sure if he would have only been known as Train, that he could have stayed here and made great contributions. Maybe I'm a little biased, but Timer taught me everything I know about scripting and I dedicate everything that I have coded in Simba and Scar to him. He is very helpful if you just let him do his thing. I believe he could have been a great attribute to the SRL community if he would have gone unnoticed as Train.
