Hey321 applied for Membership

As you might know Hey321(Pixel Thief) has done some pretty rotten things less than a year ago. Now, he is going for membership again. If it is up to me I wont let him in.

But, Since I dont want to be a dictator, I am going to let you vote for him.

Obviously, I voted no.

This might be naive of me, but I think he should be allowed a chance at membership and make the right choice to right his reputation.

Not yet.

Not yet.

Concur.

I have not seen his changes in full yet. I haven't been on as much recently but I do notice all the upcoming jrs that have become members. I have not seen Hey123 doing the same and making a difference in community or helping out all that much.

When he starts doing what I said above, I might change my views then.

A whole year has passed, he has shown significant improvement, I doubt that something like that ever will happen again, because of many reasons. The guy has a nice attitude and he can script. Why not give him a chance?

Method

2008-12-08 19:06:42

I think he's shown that he wants to come back into the community and that he is also willing to go through the process again, so I think we should let him have a shot. I haven't seen him helping out too much, but I don't look at every single topic anyway, so I've probably missed most of it.

I do find it annoying, though how he has at least 3 or 4 names on IRC and switches between them frequently, but that's just something I've observed recently.

If we say "not yet" then we need to come up with another reasonable time limit and how do we do that? No matter what we choose it would be just as abitrary as the next time limit. Personally I think we let him in. If he screws up he's out again, simple as that, if not, we have another active member.

We were nice enough just a few months ago to let him have the ability to just be on the forums. As we all know there isn't anything HUGELY significant (like anything secret [new smart, different bots, etc…]) about being an SRL Member besides the yellow name.

I say give it some more time maybe next summer? He broke a big rule here…

Hobbit

What he did was permanent ban offense! He should not even be here let alone applying for members. I think it is gracious enough for us to let him stay. But I say bar him from members. Starblaster100 barred Home from Member. I think we should do the same.

No. For reasons above, and to set an example for others.

I don't think he deserves to be allowed back on the forums let alone be SRL Member. The fact of the matter is he took advantage of someone's innocent mistake and then made up stories and lies to attempt to cover it up.

He was banned permanently from this forum and as far as I know that means he's not allowed back even through using another account. Apparently admins allowed him to do this and I, despite my position, respect that decision.

Allowing him to become an SRL Member gives him much more respect among other members. It also gives him a greater amount of responsibility as these members will trust him to abide by the rules, etc. He abused this trust and respect last time and I don't want to give him the opportunity to do it again.

Maybe its through personal experience with this sort of situation but I oppose Sandstorm(Hey321)'s application to become members.

I won't vote. I'm bad at considering stuff like "whether someone has suffered enough already" etc, maybe I'll vote yes in the member application poll if he makes a great script…

Not really allowed per say, but more inaction to stop it. I am highly against it though. I don't think he should be here, period.

I voted no: as a member, he gets more trust, which he can use to steal more. Maybe he did become a good guy, I still don't trust him.
Maybe wait six months or so and then see if he deserves it. I don't think so.

Well here in the US if you get a Felony you can't get a job basically. Imo he did a Felony and has yet to clear the mark. That's how I think of it.

Felony = mark on record for breaking law

Even if he should not be here, he has made quite some useful tutorials and such, so I think he really is trying to be helpful. And if he is helpful, I don't think he should be banned.

Are we gonna let the app poll go through til the 14th, or just end it now as this poll is a clear no?

Mr.Klean

2008-12-12 18:49:53

I would say no. People don't change easily like this. I just think he is plotting to steal more accounts with the members status. I.E. Junior members and such trust ranks SRL members and above, if we let him have members, then he will become trusted by them. He realeases a password stealing script and blam, people lost more accounts because of him.

He was perm banned for a reason, and got back onto the forms in another account. That's like being sentenced to the death penalty, killed, and then resurrected for good behavior.

Leave him out of members.

Thank you.

Not to mention, returning from a ban, a second perm ban offense.

I dont want Hey to suffer more than needed, but I have yet to find the proper words to close the thread.

Thanks all for the clear no, btw.

It is not something "personal", because we cant be "personal" really. Its just that examples need to be set.

Well I just hate injustice, that's why I've been so passionate about this. That's one of the things that pisses me off the most. If you rules say [insert offense] results in a permanent ban, then he should be given that ban. Permanent != 1 year. He should not be here period. I think we need to start stiffening up with our punishments. We have gotten somewhat weak handed when giving them out.

Think about it, if we let Hey321 back in, what if Ruler or NeonKight or Iroki etc, what if they come back? How can we honestly justify keeping them out when we let Hey321 back in?

He should live up to his actions and pay the price. Sure he may have "changed" and regrets it, but he only regrets is because he was caught. What if he was never caught? He'd probably would have been still doing it.
No to mention he made up a story about his friend or cousin of w/e afterward.

IMO He should not be here.

You talk your age young master Hobbit…but you speak your truth.. Fact of the matter is: if he hadn't told us we wouldnt have known. Which is obviously the strategy to follow on platforms like these… Just sign in under a new name and start all over. But of course that is NOT a strategy we spread around in public.

As Fawki said, ans as a question I would like answered; did anybody know that he was Hey321 before he admitted it himself? No. What kins of moral are we really going for? "stfu about it and everything will be ok"? Look at the script in his application, it's a really good one, isn't it? Without him admitting it, we would have been a SRL member by now and none of this would have happened. It's been a whole year, people do change a lot in such an amout of time, trust me.

I know people change, but that is beyond the point. For instance: you could be anybody else but EvilChicken!. Fact of the matter is: I dont know any of you (except Wizz). All I have to go for is what you say that you are and what you do with it. This works wonderfully well as long as you have a set of strict rules and pick out the right(!) people to start with. It soon becomes a selfregulating entity mainly build on mutual trust and respect.

But Hey broke four rules by stealing, denying, returning under another name and admitting he was Hey.

The first three I dont care about. I banned him because his story was lousy and he couldnt set himself telling the truth to me as you might recall from that particular thread.

But the fourth, linking Sandstorm to Hey was unforgivable. I am convinced he felt sorry for himself and for all the trouble he caused. All he wants back now is the respect he so stupidly lost by his foolish behavior. I am sure he has regrets and I am sure he will never do that again, but he will never become a member!

It just cannot be done. Thats why we have rules. I tolerate Sandstorm (Hey) because I can monitor him. But he knows I will never let him in.

I can deal with him being here as a junior member. But he should never be allowed to be anything higher. SRL Members is a privilege, not a right. Just because you can script well does not make it your right to be a member, and he lost that privilege.

Even the topic is over, No.

SRL Members is a privilege, not a right.

Personally, I don't see why it can't just be the opposite of what you usually say.

Denied/Rejected/Out.

Closed.

The vote on the app is also no, and people have posted their reasons. If you feel he needs more of an explanation, you can also vote and give your reasons.

Either way, I'm sure he understands.
