How does the Runescape account ban work?
When you get banned, you are no longer able to use the same account.
But do they also ban/block your IP so you cannot acces the servers?

Can someone clarify thsi please?

normal bans dont ban your ip, some people say there are ip bans, but i dont actually know anyone who has one…

I have played many and many and even more different games, and i've been banned from like alot of times( only 1 from RS:D ) and so, there have never been a sentence:,,Your IP is banned''. Nothing like that. Always temporarily or permanently. So i don't bealeve it ''yet''.

no ip bans are only possible if you hack into their files ( which is quite hard to do ) and they find out who it is. lol my friend ( jagex staff ) got caught trying to put all of jagex's files onto some disks, he got fired and taken to court :(

i very much doubt that someone but a complete moron would risk his job for runescape?

no he worked at jagex and was quitting anyway so he thought he could make some money out of getting their files and then selling them or something and yes he is a moron lol

And if you are banned you can just create a new account and start over.

But if you want to do the sissy thing just create a new account.

My best friends main got banned, and he just got it back due to jagex's update on the black marks…but anyways….he made 3 accounts during the time it was banned….I highly dought you can be IP blocked….

even if there was an ip block couldnt you just use a proxy??

It is likely that they will block your WAN IP.
Basically not your computer IP but your ISP IP or your modems IP.
Even if they do block your IP, what if someone else in the same household is playing runescape?
Then all players will be banned.

And lol, I don't think they have to say "sorry plyx bad luck, j00er is IP bandz0r", I think you just wont be able to access the servers then.

I imagine jagex do IP ban, but not individuals like us as their would be no point. Most likely they would IP ban people like the sweatshops with a lot of accounts coming from one IP

Most users IP's are dynamically assigned.. an IP ban would most likely be counter productive as the user would just obtain a new IP next time they logged onto the net.. I would imagine that very occassionally they have blocked blocks of IP's when a very persistant source has been identified.

i know 1 person who has been IP banned, although i don't know why.
so it is posible.
BTW it is my cousin, he lives in Missouri.:)

hey I havent gotten an IP ban. as far as i know it is your actual account that gets banned so there is no use of it whatsoever. :)

IP bans are given to mass autoers (40+ one pc).
Just stay safe and don't get an account ban ;)
