Free minimizable, client hijacker => what to do?

OK, I'm sure that everyone is aware of the xScar thing. http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15180?p=184116

It uses the same reflection that kyab uses to grab the same variables that kyab uses, and it it build in the same fashion with a small server updated like kyab does (most of these similarities can be attributed to Benlands help).

Not only this, it can also work like s.m.a.r.t. and be minimized, to easily have 3 of them running, kinda like cherokee, but more like ibot.

Unarguably a very impressive little program, with some very nice features, most likely meant in good will.

However, I know I'm not the only one here who sees the problems this will bring. There is no reason to panic right now, as I is not completed, but by looking at the source, and what it does so far, It will not be long until this is in full swing.

It appears that it is going to be released to everyone, members, non members, and the like. And because of this I foresee lots of potential damnage…

This is supposed to be a place where I can feel safe and free to say my thoughts, so at this point, I'm going to stop being objectionated, and get into my opinions
[g-opinions]
I think that this is going to ruin scar, make masses of leachers go crazy, ruin the game more, move the skill required to script, and destroy every reason this forum works. It needs to be stopped, srl is not for the lazy people finding alternative ways to go around stuff, it is about finding smart, creative, intelligent ways to work with stuff (like black lists). I wish I could do something against it.. but I really can't , but something defanitly needs to be done, and for anything to work, it is going to need tackt. How do you propose we fix this?
[/g-opinions]

ok, sorry about that. if you would like some other opinions mixed with good hard reasons, they can be found here http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12268

We all know and have those same thoughts for the most part greggreg. Its true, and MOST of the devs do not like this idea, but ya know. What are we to do.

Don't get your hopes up, it has no minimizable capability whatever he says… It has to be on screen to work, and that red dot + the buggy graphics are going to make it really hard to use normally. So far, the only minizable client for Scar is SMART. No offense to ollie, but XScar 2 is badly done and not much to worry about. Personally, I don't think anyone will ever finish it if he doesn't, and he's expressed that he doesn't want to finish it.
        if(s.toLowerCase().startsWith("movemouse") && arguments.length == 2){
int x = Integer.parseInt(arguments[0].trim());
int y = Integer.parseInt(arguments[1].trim());
scarSocket.client.mouseManager.MMouse(x, y, 5, 5);
}

else if(s.toLowerCase().startsWith("mouse") && arguments.length == 3){
int x = Integer.parseInt(arguments[0].trim());
int y = Integer.parseInt(arguments[1].trim());
scarSocket.client.mouseManager.MMouse(x, y, 5, 5);
scarSocket.client.mouseManager.clickMouse(arguments[2].trim().contains("true"));
}

else if(s.toLowerCase().startsWith("clickmouse") && arguments.length == 1){
scarSocket.client.mouseManager.clickMouse(arguments[0].trim().contains("true"));
}
I mean come on, three Scar commands? Please. It does have a good version of my Splines that was written for arga however…

Synopsis:
  • Scarscape part is badly done and I believe detectable since it makes Math.random() return a constant value.
  • Event management is non existent and will lead to bannage.
  • The Scar<>Java interface is basically nonexistent
  • The updater/reflection came out of IBot (With ruler's permission I believe)
  • It can't minimize and still function
  • Graphics suck
  • Ollie did this in a day, and doesn't plan on finishing it

hmm, yes, that is very encouraging. And hopefully, (as he got attacked by a mass of noobs already, lol) he will think twice.

In my experience, once you have the basics done (like one scar command, etc) then the rest are very easy to expand upon.

Looking at the worse, and the "what to do part", i supose we could just tell him to mess with it on his own fourms?

oh, and benland! stop helping him! lol.

lol, ok , thats fine and very noble. :)

but how about, just this once, we go utilitarianism style, and do what is best for the greater good. You have givven him more than a start, mabey it is time that he uses his own brain, and learns the good , effective , hard way.

Bit of an update!

i just talked with solar, he is integrating this into kyab.
http://www.kyab.asssoft.org/smf/index.php/topic,363.msg4482/topicseen.html#new

he plans for there to be silent mouse, and everything, and I know solar will be dedicated to this…just an interesting progression.

also, what happened to the xScar thread?

I'm happy with it as long as it is not on this forum, and as long as it is not free for all noobs.

lol, im fixing it up and releasing for srl members only, and im not adding minimising support, would kill the idea of SCAR

xSCAR is a java client created by Semaphore and Asdf to retrieve variables from the client to pass to SCAR if anyone would name his client the same that would just be idioty, that's all I have to say

wait, so ure sayingv that olie made somehting that has already been created before, by difretn peopkle?

and that he named it the same thing!?

lol, that is idiocracy…

Ollie knew about xSCAR, and since his client does a similar thing hes just taken the name and shoved a 2 at the end

xSCAR was created, but went down very fast as jagex updated and Kaitnieks.com closed down.

xscar was by semaphore? If i believe correctly. And some other java dudes. MAYBE krichesokey. I can never remember. I an only remember semaphore. Died like ultra quick. Considering kaits went down and the project was never moved.

Meh xscar 2 if it was made wouldnt be that bad. People are just advancement nazis at times. Kyab was pretty cool. So is smart. ( i think its just because ben is so sexy) and i dont see why people should have to keep the things they make in hiding just because people are scared it will kill scar.

From: Asdf @ kaitnieks.com @ topic Project Codename: XScar
Semaphore and I have been working together for a while and we have thought up revolutionary ideas about RuneScape cheating.

We have successfully created a set of tools that allows any SCAR scripter to get advanced RuneScape information in SCAR.

It even goes one better. It has the same detectability as SCAR. So, it is as detectable as you want it to be (crap scripts v. good scripts).

Current features: -
  • procedure GetLocalLocation(var x: Integer; var y: Integer); - Get "small" map location.
  • procedure GetGlobalLocation(var x, y: Integer); - Get "big" map location.
  • procedure GetMapLocation(var x, y: Integer); - Your exact RuneScape coordinates.
  • procedure GetPixelMapLocation(var x, y: Integer; mapx, mapy: Integer); - Give it a RuneScape location that is visible on the minimap, and it will return the pixels to click.
  • function IsJagexWatching: Boolean; - Returns true if you are flagged by Jagex.
  • function LoggedIn: Boolean; - Returns true if you are logged in.
  • function CameraRotation: Integer; - Returns the angle of your minimap (aka. camera)

Hold on to your panties, an attachment will come soon.

Erm, because it would get leeched like mad creating even more braindead noobs who don't give a shit about constributing to the community…

It is an interesting theory, but i dont feel like putting it to the test.

There is more to life than runescape, and i like what scar teaches you.

Hundreds of kids come here to program, and scar is their first language, I belive it is better for them to have to do things the srl way, instead of the kyab way.

Not to mention that i do care about rs too, i dont want it to get hit by hundreds of leachers useing a client based bot. And if it does, I dont want it to be tied to srl.

I have quite a few friends that are memebers and play the game legitly, i want to keep the auto/real balance correct for the greater good.

Read first few words freddinator :p I dunno. People arent purists anyway. I mean if you really wanted a challenge then stop using a include :p. And while your at it go back to delphi and code your own scar. Every step is a way forward. Whether it makes it easier or not. Its just the way things happen. Why sharpen a spear with a rock when you can use a knife? I mean sure a rock would be more challenging to sharpen it but wouldnt a knife just be easier. And a "smarter" choice?

O dw you arent the only one saying it :p. I dunno i liked it. Watching the script and where it clicked etc. It didnt seem that human. Ifr you set the tiles off a few paces. It worked fine. Because the next time it clicked. It based the click relative to where you were already standing. Thus making it quite handy :p
