Well, I suppose I've dedicated enough of my time to this forum to make you read some crap about me.
First off, I'm brand new to forums, like, big time, I have never been active more than 2 posts in any forum until this one. That means you guys had to deal with every bit of noobyness I could possibly throw at you.
I registered with lordgreggreg at first, it didn’t send me the email, so I made lordgreggreg1. I used wizzups script nightly until a year later when my main got banned.
Around this time I decided that I wanted to be a member, so I started to make a walking script to varrock (from lumbridge). I have always loved coding and scripting for nearly anything, It makes me very happy when stuff works, and makes me even happier when it doesn’t (makes me think). I am in college right now, and I scripted this walking script in my free time.
I decided that I really preferred srl forums above all the others, just because everyone was outrageously helpful. I really liked the atmosphere and I have never seen anything like it, once I was a member, I felt it was my responsibility to continue to contribute to the community.
I spent a long time thinking of how to solve compass alignment issues (because they were never 100% correct) and came up with a little script I used to make my own more reliable. http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=
And eventually I made a system to dynamically choose a line to align to here. http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t= These script took allot of my time, and no one really paid attention to them, and I admit, they defiantly weren’t my best work.
I also made a little script to detect how much red was in a signature for fun, http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13714, and two released scripts for a facebook game. http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12613 and http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13621
I went off looking for some other project to work on, but the more I looked through srl scripts, I realized that there are some people on this forum that can script hundreds of times better than me. I knew I might be able to reach that level, but that I just really wouldn’t be worth my time. There are much more profitable languages to perfect.
So instead of trying to become a mega guru at srl (knowing that other aspects of my life (Laura) would suffer), I decided to try to help out other people at scripting. I have always enjoyed teaching, although I would NEVER do it as a profession, so I started helping out random people who could use some help. To date I think I have personally helped over a dozen people here, half of which are now members. (Not just because of me of course).
This really made me feel pretty good, and I really enjoyed knowing that I was helping out people. As I was browsing through some of the less script related areas of this forum, I ran into HERE, and was impressed that she could actually think. I decided that she needed to be a member, and so I began to teach her how to script. She learned lightning fast, and after making a really nice auto talker, we went on to fry bigger and better fish. I released a little snippet readLine() (scar didn’t have one) and then left her on her own. When she came back I loved telling her how all her script wouldn’t work good enough :p.
Anyhow, she also had a really harsh attitude towards people who don't use their brain. I agreed with all this, but also wanted to do it in as productive a way as possible. I was also learning php for a job (that I didn’t get) and decided it would be a neat project to try out my book knowledge. That resulted in this http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14325 and eventually, (although questionable if they are related) a care bear.
Right now I am heavily embedded in school, so I can’t really make the time to release any new scripts or anything, so I just try to maintain the noob point system, and make as many helpful posts as I can get away with.
Basically, I just want to thank everyone for making this community what it is, I doubt I will ever enjoy being part of another one, and I am very fortunate to be part of this one. I am also working on a little tutorial to help people download srl 4 too. http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14431
Anyhows, here is a picture of me from about 8 months ago.
