Really new working version JUST released!! TRY IT
Ok, Sorry about that red stuff but seriously, I spent 5 hours perfecting this. It has a very advanced detection system that decides if a point is considered a possible line point check out how it works!!!
I don't cat what you have said you have seen before, this works better, and this is the KEY to getting very tricky rs functions to work.

Please, tell me what you think about it, I'm not ready to just let all this hard work go to nothing.

Ok, i know you are all thinking that we already have great compass functions. And we do, and I use them.
However, there are just some times when you REALLY need the compass to be EXACTLY perfect (color finding for instance).
And that is what this script does.
It is very simple, it has only one argument, the direction, which it immediately passes to SetCompas

How does it do better than that?
Well, just like in my other post,

it uses the white lines on the minimap as reference points, and tries to make their slope zero.

So yes, this one is very complex, and even then, it still won't work everywhere, but starting at the top left of your minimap, it starts looking for lines (the first white color it hits on its way down is considered a possible point, nothing below them). If the points found match certian criteria, it decides to keep it untill it feel it has enough to align to.

I REALLY encorage you to look at the code in this one, I am very proud of it.

Also, if you want to have fun testing it out, I have made that very easy for you. Simply download my varock walker script,

and before you start it, set player[0].loc = "GregAlign";
that will put you into an infinite loop that looks for "north south east or west".
So while your in this mode (anywhere btw) just type in "North" and press enter, then watch the debug screen go crazy.

I tested it (VE), and it didn't work for me.. It keeps turning, even if it's near the right angle. And it lags pretty much..

the lag is mainly from the infinate loop that searches for you typing text.

I think that mine would be good because it doesn't mess with the compass or anything, It just aligns it to the biggest white line it find.

Thanks, I think so too. I know that there are a few thingys that i need to modify on it. Mainily on the part where it decided to accept a point as part of the line to be tested.
I'm just unsure if i should wokr on it if it has already been made before.

Why does it only set the compass north?… Like, I take my char argument and immidiatly do "MakeCompass(direction);" so shoudn't that work?. I could have sworn I tested it with south too…

Im glad it worked for you! I have goten quite a bit of succes in this one. I really need more people to take a few minutes to test this!

I have made it really easy to test, just run my varock walker in "alignment mode" from the form.

then make you character say "north" or etc!

depends on the situation and whether you are clicking on the minimap or not.

It aligns the minimap so its lines are perfect, this may not always be the same as perfect north, as they change the orientation.

So if you are clicking on the minimap, and you want the lines to be perfectly stright, this is for you.
