SRL Archive - NOTA

Whyyy in the heavens name are there so many "guests" browsing villavu? it should be compulsory to make an account or something!

Cause they aren´t only leeching.. i mean, there are 17 guests browsing "NOTA" section.. they can´t leech anything from here :duh:

Maybe web crawling bots

The guests are split up as actual guests vs. search indexers. This is something along the lines of what brings in traffic + revenue for the owners of this site.
This is the case in all if not most forums.

When people google stuff about 'SIMBA' or color bots or help with simba error, google results end up to specific threads on this forum.
When people click on those results = guests start showing up here.

Here's an example:
1) Google: 99 herblore no Overloads
2) Look at that, the first result is a guide on this forum.
3) Click the result
4) Scroll down and look at how many others are checking out the forum (within the past hour or so, I think.)

Registration is required for people to download scripts, so we can't blame it on the leechers. I think it's a combination of curious people browsing, spiders, and people who have accounts but aren't logged into them.

oh thanks for the detailed explanation, i see now, pretty cool
