Interest Poll: EdgevilleYews | Esoteric Mages

(!) UPDATE | 7/31/13 | EdgeYews has officially been released and is available to Junior Members and above.

Now that we have private script section for junior members I can release some of my private scripts without subsequent complete infestation of the involved areas. Before I release these I would like to first gauge approximately how many of our Junior members would be using them. If we can get above a handful of people with interest I'll make the effort to have these scripts released.

Please let me know if you would have interest in these scripts:

  • Edgeville Yews | Hourly: 30k - 75k | Chops the two yew trees south of Edgeville.
  • Tree Gnome Magics | Hourly: 60k - 130k | Quite possibly the only non-infested area containing magic trees that doesn't have any requirements. This script hops between worlds to find trees, logs worlds that produce 1+ magic logs & do not have any other white dots on the screen, and adds to a list of bad worlds that did not produce any magic logs.
* These scripts include support for ents along with a variety of fail safes and timers that have produced several 6 hour+ reports and a handful of 12 hour+ reports. I have personally used yews for 60 to 75 and magics from 75 to 90-95 woodcutting on half a dozen accounts.

Please reply to the included poll and also post which script(s) you plan to use, the number of accounts you plan on using them with, if you plan on long-term use, and any other usage information you would like to include.

Script: Edgeville Yews
Number of bots: 100 - 200 (I plan to farm literal billz with this, ty)

Joking aside, interesting idea to get feedback like this. I don't play 07 so I won't be using it anyhow, but I like the idea of the world hopping and a bad world blacklist, that's a good way to make sure you use the best worlds, so I'd say the second one :)

Before I gave this script out to a friend, I coded in a feature that connects to an online database (PHP & .txt) and checks a certain world to see if the other user had signed into the world within the past 5 minutes. If someone had used the world in the past 5 minutes it would return false, otherwise return true and add that world to the .txt file along with a timestamp.

While the effectiveness of the above is inversely correlated to the amount of users increasing, if we only have a handful of people using this script I may just keep this feature intact to minimize the bumping of heads.

To be honest I don't think if you released a yew cutting pot even to the public they wouldn't be infested. SRL isn't te only site with scripts anymore, most people who are goldfarm and I would say most people in general) have moved on to Tribot, OSbot, or whatever other injection bot there is

I would prefer a magic chopper, since it rakes in a lot cash, it could be handy for my bot farm.

You did yews from 60-75? That is an awful idea. Is that like 20 yews/hr?

That sure would matter, if I was actually playing the game. 60-75 took around 2-4 days.

My most recent report, script ended due to Mordaut random

EXP/hr overflowed I'm assuming. Stats are for the cumulative stats for the account & appear at termination.

You could have levelled them a lot faster at willows or maples to get them to a better chopping rate. In the long run you would have made more money/hr.

Hey I realize that your post count increases regardless of the validity of your post's content, but you should really try adding some facts to statements like that. Something as simple as "I have a few accounts with high woodcutting" is better than nothing. I'll attempt to lead by example.

Starting yews at 60 vs 70 woodcutting
I realize the derivative of profit/hr is greater than 0, but for the sake of calculations the profit rates will remain constant.
(derivatives are in my favor anyway)

We will assume at 60 woodcutting we get 120 yew logs per hour.
We will assume at 70 woodcutting we get 130 yew logs per hour.
We will assume the price of yew logs is 500ea.

If we cut willow logs at 60 instead of yews, it will take ~10.5 hours to reach 70 at 40k exp/hr and 5k cash/hr.
If we were to cut yews instead, we would gain 21k exp/hr and 60k cash/hr.

My lead increases 55k cash/hr for 10.5 hours totaling to a gap of 577,500 profit.

The additional 10 logs per hour at 70 woodcutting means an extra 5k/hr profit over chopping yews at 60 woodcutting.

This would mean 577,500 / 5,000 = 120 hours (~5 days non-top) of woodcutting just to break even with me.

But it gets worse. As we continue to chop, the gap between our levels will continue to decrease until eventually becoming equal. (e.g. 1mil exp to level 1 vs. level 30 comes out to the same level) As this level gap decreases, that 5,000/hr margin will continue to drop with it and eventually diminish to 0.

You will start off gaining more cash/hr, but unfortunately for you there is a vertical asymptote that will stop you before breaking even. To make matters even worse for you, I would raise the cash to buy a dragon hatchet before you (assuming the bots are self-sufficient), putting a huge dent in, if not reversing, your already diminishing 5,000gp margin.

You can tweak the constants but in the end the proof will still remain valid.

I did straight up yews 60-67 wc on OSRS and it was atleast 150 logs/hr
On EOC I did 60-82 ALL YEWS
they are worth it even at a low WC unless you just want XP.

EdgeYews has been released and can be found in the Junior Member oldschool scripts section. I'm not sure if I am going to release the mage chopper though. It's nice having it all to myself.

Would you like a better paint for it? Would be nice knowing you have a good script with good paint :D

Possibly, could you show some examples of a "better paint" or examples of your work.
