My name is Chris, and I'd like to learn more about simba and the scripting langauge that's used. I've messed around with java for a couple of years now and some C/C#/C++.

I would very much appreciate if someone would take the time to get on skype with me (Just the messaging part) and help me to write a few scripts and get the basics down, I'm a quick learner and I tend to stay away from asking questions I can find the answer to on google.

I've read through a few scripts here, although none of them make since. I'm seeing things that look like encrypted strings, and that's just for movement. Coming from writing basic Java programs, programming some RSPS, and doing some Scripting for Injection Bots(Which I LOVED doing) I'm not too sure about the Pascal frame.

I'd like for someone to just help me get the idea of what I'm doing and I'd be very greatful, I'll be happy to pay via Paypal(Sent as gift) for any help recieved, or as a "Donation" if purchasing things is not allowed on this forum.

Things I want to learn how to do in Simba for RS
  • Walking - Pathfinding
  • Finding NPCs and Objects
  • Creating a Script that can trade a player, and notify once the trade is completed
  • Also would like to learn how to type

Not sure what all you can do in pascal, but I was thinking of using a mirrored version of the client and running a* pathfinding on it, returning the cube position, then using a math equation to get the correct position of the mouse on the actual game client, then click. This would create an efficient path-finding system for Simba if that method can be used.

————

Also, was wanting to look into trying to implement the CleverBot API into one of my scripts, then modifying it to my liking to create a script that can actually hold a RS-Based conversation with someone, such as when asked about a level, quest, etc.

————

Thanks for taking the time to read this post, if it's in the wrong section I do apologize, as I couldn't find anywhere else to post.

~Chris

Seems like you're a very knowledgeable person when it comes to scripting! In all honesty, learning to script for simba, and just getting the overall hang of it, was possibly one of the easiest things I've done in the last few years. I'm not very accomplished when it comes to scripting, I've made and done a few things here and there, but nothing official or large. I would reccomend simply exploring scripts and different includes and areas of your simba/srl/srl folder, that helps alot to learn different things you can implement into your rs based scripts!

It takes maybe an hour or two to learn the basics - something I'm sure you'll grasp easier than I did. For learning the extreme basics, I can redirect you to Yohojo's videos, which were very helpful to me http://www.youtube.com/user/YoHoJoSRL?feature=watch

Otherwise, you can explore the scripting help and tutorials section, which really has all levels of guides and such
http://villavu.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=490

For the last two things that you mentioned - I'm sure a member or someone who's more experienced at scripting would be glad to pair up with you and help develope the mentioned things. If you ever need help with something specific, don't hesitate to post on the forums, I can garuntee you somebody can help.

Anyways, welcome!

Thanks for the information, I'm currently at work on my lunch break and I don't even have Simba downlaoded on my computer. I'm actually in the process of learning BCEL and ASM and deciding which one I'm going to use in the development of my current project "XenoBot" which is an injection bot, that will be hosted throughout multiple networks and have a DDoS failsafe so issue's that have happened in the past won't be effected. I already have a loader set up which wasn't that hard at all which I've done on my own. It'd be even better for me if I leanred how to implement simba through Java, then load the Pascal scripts through my loader. Id absolutely love it, but it's all just a learning experience for me. I'm not attempting to make any money.

I would concur with this post. I have absolutely no scripting knowledge and while I can kind of make sense (now) how a script works some of the stuff these members can do blow my mind. That being said your request list is pretty easy and watching YoHo's tutorials will help immensely. Google (the user not the search engine) has an amazing tutorial on SPS walking which I have used to create a Mahogany Tree Cutter and Port P Cannonball maker (REALLY easy once you get the hang of it).

YoHo also has some incredible tutorials on DTM's which help find objects. If your looking to kill a little time at work watch the tutorials without SIMBA just to get a feel for how it all comes together and then try again when you get home.

Everything is covered in the tutorial sections, and if u have a question just make a thread or ask on srl irc/skype :)

Check Coh3n's beginner tutorial first! to get the hang of pascal.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, I just understand better when I can get direct answers almost immediately after questions, which is what I'm looking for. I'm sure I can get a really nice understanding of this within a few hours, as far as the mouse/keyboard go. Does Simba/SMART use a virtual keyboard/mouse or does it control my physical mouse? Because I use a Four Monitor setup and it would really just kill the purpose if I couldn't use my computer while botting, which is why I asked about implementing Simba into my Java Loader.

You can have it use a virtual mouse with SMART so that you can do other things on your computer while botting.

Woooop Woooop, might just focus on Simba Script Creation for awhile then, aslong as I can get the Path-Fidning/Menu selections down. Seems it may be fairly complicated with a color, coded bot. Especially walking long distances, what if we used an injected version of the client that was rendered through OpenGL by Catching the Applet on Smart? That way we would not be editing any packets being sent to the actual client, but editing an Instantiated version of the OpenGL client, this way we could still hook everything in the OpenGL instance and Return the values to Simba, then use the values to create a pathfinding method similar to injection clients, without even being caught. Method would require Instantiated the whole client although, but very possible. Perhaps creating a duplicated, sandbox JVM
