Hey guys so I'm finally about to hit 80 dungeoneering and would like some advice on which chaotic I should get first.

So before it was chaotic maul GGnore..

But I've also heard that since the dual wield update I should go for chaotic claw+enhanced Excalibur?

Can't afford drygores so any input would be appreciated.

I'd get a chaotic maul first
then the dual ccbs and then a chaotic staff

I think maul should be better

I personally would say that the maul would be good. If you are high STR its good.

Was hoping on your input on this. Also from what I've read chaotic staff is meh? Is it really worth getting?

Chaotic Staff has the highest accuracy in the game for a staff. ABS has the second but comes with infinite air runes and is non-degradeable.
So its your preference.

As for your first chaotic, I can speak from experience, The maul is probably the best first chaotic to get.

Yeah that was me…lol..and I have kept the pace up. Maybe not a lot since I am doing Dungeoneering services for a member here and a friend in real life so I have to balance the training a bit.

Well On my almost maxed main p2p, I get around 100k xp per hour doing c6 small Solo's. If I take the trouble to gather a team and keep regrouping(Which sometimes can take a while), I can get up to 300k Xp per hour. But that also depends on the dungeoneering level, binds, and techniques to finish faster..

Yeah I do sinkholes about almost everyday or soo(When I dont forget too).Well the tips are simple:
1. Make sure you have the highest item binded and it's recommended to use meele. (If 90 attack, bind a prom weapon, If 54 defence, bind the 50 defence armor.
2. When it comes to abilities, try to include the simple one's since you get more to choose from. You dont want 3 basic and the rest being ultimates.
3. If you can bind 3 items atm, then make sure they are plate, legs and weapon for max protection.
4. Do all solo floors in C6 small mode.
5. dont kill monsters at the dead end, key rooms, or skill rooms. (only kill all monsters if they are guardian doors.)
6. Use your group gatestone and make gatestone to drop at doors which you need to come back later too..
7. Open all doors and try not to die as it will lower your xp for that room.

Thanks for taking the time to write all of that out! I'm glad I'm doing it the most efficient way :)

I personally like duel rapiers or duel longs…
But a maul is decent too.

The only chaotics that are useful nowadays are the maul, staff and the shields.

Chaotic Rapiers, Chaotic Claws and Chaotic Longswords are rendered obsolete by drygores. Chaotic Crossbows are useless due to royal crossbow being much better and only costing ~3m. Maul is definitely the best melee weapon in-game if you can't access drygores. The staff is the best magic weapon besides virtus wand. The 3 shields are the best shields besides spirit shields, but the excessive prayer drain on those hinder their use.

I recommend the Maul as first choice, then a staff if you plan on slaying and one of the 3 shields if you plan on bossing. Any extra tokens should be spent on any chaotic melee weapons you would want. Never get the crossbows unless you have an excess of tokens cause they really aren't worth it.

Great in-depth explanation Jim. Thank you very much. You've reassured me on my choice of going maul first :). Will definitely look into staff next. 86 slayer ATM so if it helps ill definitely grab that afterwards.

Well I guess that's where we differentiate then haha. Drygores take the cake.
