So... wBot was an elaborate scam.

As myself, and many other people are aware - people who used wBot had their banks cleaned. And now, all of a sudden, wBot has been taken down due to Jagex, "taking legal action". I sense a load of bullshit, honestly. There is no doubt the owners of wBot who cleaned peoples banks made hundreds of millions within their short reign. (I myself, lost about 400k or so after using the bot for merely 2 days). So it looks like they've fucked off now for good, which is great. The bot was good, but I honestly doubt they had the patience to try and make money off selling scripts/premium bonuses, so instead they've cut their members short by flogging their items and have made a haul for it.
MY TEN CENTS ANYWAY. Feel free to express your ideas, say that I'm wrong etc. I'm just throwing my opinion out there. Many people on the wBot forums believed that they were hacked by them, myself being one of them.
Or… You know… wBot was actually taken down by Jägex :P

Oh hell, some mod should put this on top of forums fast. Nobody would like their accounts cleaned.
They have probably made a ton of money already. Wonder what's going to happen with the scripts now though.
Thank you for the information! Hopefully more people will see it before it's too late!

I never got hacked while using it. I only used two scripts however, sFisher and tChopper. I also never had my password changed during my time using it by me. I also never had a pin while using it. Due to resent speculations, I have now changed these ways.

I ran wBot on a VM and checked all traffic with WireShark regularly as other members have provided screenshots of, there was nothing amiss. And looking through the obfuscated source there was again nothing suspicious. If you got hacked it was your own doing.

Even still, they have your account information. They can and probably will use it. I can guarantee they've done so in the past, so they'll do it again. Probably are now lol
Although it may not be wBot hacking 07 accounts, somebody is targeting them so if you play 07 I recommend changing your password and generally being cautious what you click on.

Did literally everyone who used WBot really get cleaned, or are you just assuming?
Yeah lots of people were claiming WBot hacked them when it was up, but it as a relatively small # compared to the total number of users.

He's just assuming. I used it and have had 0 problems with my account. Most of the people who go "hacked" are the ones who clicked on youtube download links for the client and/or account shared. Also low rated scripts that were provided on the site. Some people have zero common sense.
Like someone said though, you should change your password if you used WBot.

My opinion on the matter is that some people who were looking for old school bots downloaded things other than just Wbot or perhaps even downloaded Wbot from a different source such as a link in a YouTube video. By doing this they most likely downloaded a Keylogger or a RAT along with Wbot and then got hacked by some other person who was simply targeting people who would want to bot in OSRS.

^ have to agree with this. your theory makes no sense since you have no evidence. I used the bot for a whole month and I own way more than 400k but I am not flogged or what so ever. And I'm sure lots of other people have not been cleaned either.

They were far ahead of the competition, enough to become stable and make a lot of money off scripts over time. I really do believe they didn't intend to go down. I used it for over a week non stop and I still have everything.

Not that it's proof or anything.. but I received an email from JAG that someone tried to access my account with an I.P. located in netherlands (where wBot admins are from), like i said, doesn't prove anything, but could've been wbot, i used it alot.

I would like to point out that other bots have been taken down by Jagex in the past just as suddenly.
Yet I've used it since the beginning and have never once experienced a problem, nor have any of my accounts been "hacked". Also havn't changed any passwords since this whole thing. And I guarantee my computer is clean.
Than again I don't go and download anything that claims it's a "bot"
If you got hacked you either used a malicious script, or got wbot from an unofficial source. Either way it was your own fault, not wbots.

I botted a whole month on wbot on multiple accounts with over 5m. Never had one cent missing… Jagex did take them down because of the mass bot's they produced. Way too many people picking flax…..

Maybe a good theory, maybe they wanted to do this because they didn't want to end up like the nexus creaters, so they decided to scam a lot of account in the beginning because the gold is worth 10x then it will be later

None of my accounts were hacked, but i never put in my username/pass in their scripts like they wanted. I just typed it in myself.

I just returned to rs after 07 was released and had remembered simba from last summer, not the easiest to setup but with some patience and little computer knowledge it can be done, I have tried others ;like vInsert etc, luckily none of my friends suggested this wBot or i would probably have been cleaned also Oo
Simba number 1! ^_^

OP, I agree with you.
And obviously they don't hack everyone. They need to keep a lot of people telling others "yes its legit, nothing happened to me" or it wouldn't work out.

I used wBot for a bit and never had any troubles. Although there was one range guild script that was coded to trade the inv of the user to a player that said "Hello again". It was removed once attention was drawn to this and the scripter was banned. I believe that some scripters were corrupt rather than the whole entire website.
