Good theory, and possibly true too, wouldn't surprise me, but it's also just a theory/guess.
This will hurt all people who to go PowerBot for EoC things, but IF they are providing OSR stuff for private farmers, they can easily just have offline version of the scripts/bot and continue on botting just fine. I'd assume they money they are making from private farmers paying is > all of the EoC people botting, so they might not even care.

I haven't seen so many gold farming bots at all but I guess I just haven't been in their farming spots.

Flax, Silk Stall in Al Kharid or at the Ardogne Bank, popular WC spots, Essence are most of the big places.
Just like in the "good :duh:ol' days"

Hmm, there are always going to be private bots, who says its powerbot it could be there "goldfarmer sponsers" or any mass farmer. Also what about simba, that would explain some of the farming accounts around. Though definitely not all of them.

Wont happen. Maybe for a day? yes. but whats the point? unless they are going to pay people, no one will spend there resources DDosing Powerbot. They are like a drug company. Funded by so many people its not even funny. Jagex are the only people who will ever be able to fully stop them.

And OFC Powerbot has a 07 client already. They had a semi-working injection client 3 weeks after the bot nuke. Ever wondered why all the gold shops owned by huge sponsers on PB had 50bill+ Stock after the bot nuke if they had "no bots" that worked?? Lol

They will Goldfarm 07 scape untill its more profitable to release the client and sell the scripts. there a business.

Its no different then SRL keeping all the good money making scripts and (for a while) the OSRS Client in the SRL mem section. Why? So the Members can benefit from it before everyone else.

Powerbot does the same thing, you cant really blame them. They are in it for the money, like anyone else who goldfarms is.

But id say half those bots on 07 are simba bots, Ik a couple people alone on here who goldfarm and have 1,000+ accs between the few users i know who goldfarm 07 …and thats only the ones i know. lol

Edit: I also find it funny, where all these other bots are complaining about being DDosed. They have more paid scripts/clients then Powerbot does. yet calls PB money hungry, Dont get me wrong, i dont care for PB either, nor do i even like them. Havent touched there bot in like a year now? But im just saying. its very hypocritical.

Gold farming ruins the game

The difference between powerbot and other bot companies (nexus) is powerbot is BACKED by a huge business probably racking in a lot of money.

The other possibility is that all those bots with the reprehensible names are us. We have flaxpickers, ak silkbuyers, pretty much any 07 goldfarming script (If not public then privately made for a farmer)

Could be true, but don't forget just because we can't account for all the scripts, many large farmers use private Simba scripts for reliability and willingness of coders. I've sold a few special scripts on Sythe already today :p

It's really disheartening that almost any "industry" is corruptible with money.

I have an idea… host the bot on a service that can't get put offline. Make a bot that can be used offline. I mean jesus, make a subreddit, host the bot on a filehoster, make people add scripts manually. Who cares if you don't get a forum? At least you get a bot.

Yeah there definitely is a client for it over there. It's a great business seeing as gold was going for like $30 a mill or something absurd.

Shoulda got a dynamic IP for all of those DDOSED sites.

Not really bothering me, other than making items a tad cheaper and gold prices low (keep the greedy people income low).. Also nothing new, hoping Chinese bots will be a bot more popular like the old days, helped the economy to stay stable.

Clearly you missed the point of the thread, which was to link to a hackforums thread about the subject. If you want to reach the people responsible you should go there, not here.

That is a pretty good theory in my opinion. It sounds like something they would do and isn't too hard to believe. As for DDoSing them, I am not sure how effective that would actually be but I am not against it either.

1) DDOSing is illegal, Paris has already paid out loads of money for lawyers to protect him against Jagex and any other threats in creating a bot, he's not gonna throw that away to ddos a site setup by teenagers and not affecting his profits much at all.
2) It's a good theory, but it's completely wrong and fueled by their blind hatred for Paris.
3) Paris has also invested a ton in ddos protection, I doubt this will work.

He has ddos protection. But not the best. I'm sure if 100 people do it at the same time his ddos protection will break.

People need to learn what DDoSing does.

Creating a bot for 07scape would not be hard. The client is not anywhere as obfuscated as the current runescape client. I am sure that pbot has had a working client a few days after the release.

Sometimes i even observe the movements and see how 4-6 guys go in the same direction for the same ore, which is further than numerous ores around. Makes me think they all run the same bot >.>

Or stumbled upon some random buffer overflow. Or ddos with some automatic tool. Or tried to install backtrack. Or tried to use aircrack. I could go on.

We have like.. 3 working scripts that I know of, and only 2 of them are really goldfarmish.. (If butterflies are good for goldfarming.)
