I'm curious as to the current message on wBot's homepage. If it's indeed updated, why isn't it released? I'm thinking Jagex could have possibly gotten to them, much like the situation with kBot. Thoughts?

I think they are holding off the release due to DDoS attacks and waiting to migrate to a new server

I've heard nothing about any shutdown, quite a thread title you got there it's going to stir up attention!
I just know they are almost always being DDoSed by some people with a lot of network power.

Other bots (possibly) or just people who don't want the price of RS07 GP to fall are DDOSing.
Less bots = less competition for legits, less competition for other bots, less gold framing=high GP prices.
But either way in the end RS07 is going to get raped hard!

Take out the competition? or annoyed because theres a bot for your much loved game?
but yeah, I don't like wbot but I think ddosing them is childish.

Now…. i give this game 3 months max.

This will lead to some donation drive for wBot. Calling it now.

Also, I highly doubt the claims they were even being heavily DDOS'd in the first place. It seems mainly that they just cant handle the traffic they are getting for normal users, as the "DDOSing" usually happened whenever wBot had an update.

rumors are flying around that Wbot was hacked and some group has access to all their account logs, might be worthwhile changing your passwords just incase

It's not hard to get a lawyer. My work even provides legal council.

Anyone can get a lawyer with a few hundred bucks (sure they will be a crappy one but still)

Qauters got into legal trouble a long time ago with Jagex. Back when speljohan was still around. Part of his thing was he was never to access a jagex game, website, ect. That didn't work to well seeing as he is now one of the "Chinese" admins.

Apparently pretending to be Chinese is a start.

Perhaps he genuinely moved to China? Copyright laws are really odd there, I remember watching a top gear episode about how you can buy fake chinese copies of almost every expensive car for next to no money and for years the big companies have been trying to stop it but they can't due to chinese copyright laws. :S
