Does anyone know how to create a new layer from a selected circle?
Photoshop trail is over and cba to download it again (its like 5-6 gb)

AFAIK Gimp can't do this in one keypress out of the box. You have to Copy -> Paste -> New Layer.

Ah ok, but I can still merge to layers together correct?
