I've written scripts for Scar/Simba before, but it's been many years. I haven't touched RuneScape in about 2 years. I've returned due to the 2007 servers.

I love these servers and I play them legitimately; however, recently I've become interested in creating scripts again. I won't be botting on my main account, I'll be subscribing to a new account and starting from fresh. I'm curious, on the modern RS do players get each of their accounts banned at once? Would my main be banned if my new account was banned as well? I haven't been banned from botting, but Jagex has become more aggressive towards bots lately.

I personally believe that the more you work on making your account look like you care for it, then you are most likely going to do a lot better when it comes to getting banned.

By this i mean that you should make sure you have recovery questions set, along with being protected by JAG. I have all of my accounts with those on them and i have never had an account banned.

My friend on the other hand had his account banned for the reason of gold farming with RSBot, but that was his fault. Not to mention that he had no recovery questions or email verification on his account.

Yes, I've heard of the nonexistent bans, haha. So Jagex doesn't chain-ban accounts? That's my main concern if I'm ever caught.

They do IP bans if you are suspected of gold farming. Also if you didn't already know, when you are banned on 07 you are also banned on EOC (as it is the same account).

Well, I think scripts like Ashaman's LRC speak for themselves.

Powerbot's kMiner, for example, got numerous users banned, like hundreds of them. Compated to Ashaman's 1 user, who didn't even confirm it. He didn't even get banned, just rolled back to 1 mining.

IMO you have to run a REALLY poor made script if you want to get your account banned. :P

Yeah, Its all based on which scripts are used and how you take care of your account.
