Kid gets Promising Newcomer because he writes a script that gets fucking leeched 1,500 times total & 100 times daily. How is that promising. That's the opposite of promising. That's the bane of SRL, leeching.

Why do we let these things happen?

And why did I not get Promising Newcomer for MY script that got leeched five-fucking-THOUSAND times?

Explain, please.


Also, I'm still getting 404 errors and the like all over the forum, hence my recent inactivity. Fix, please?

Who wants to help the leechers? I thought this site was all about teaching them.

I agree with the anti-leech part, should be scripter's choice.

Not everyone is willing to learn, some(majority) just leech :p

Promising new coming = decent scripter, you sir are ignorant

I fixed my 404 errors by clearing cache and flushing dns.

Promising Newcomer is not about how often someone's script is downloaded / used, it's about the amount of potential shown at such an early stage of a user. His script is well put together, and definitely uses some more complex methods compared to other people's early scripts.

You're asking why he got the cup and you didn't, so let's do a quick comparison. Script size alone; your auto-alcher: 2.5KB, your bone-bury(er): 3.2KB. His essence-miner: 25.4KB.

You really can't compare your scripts to his, if you do then I'm afraid you won't like the outcome.

Flush your DNS!! It solves most 404 errors

Nothing personal, but according to the rules,

First of all, it's not about how many times people download your script; it's about the quality and ingenuity of the programming. Second, it is also about the maturity and helpfulness of the person in question. Most people that get this cup end up making it into SRL Members, because they seem to have the qualities from the start.

From the above, it would seem that your scripts aren't something that 'stands out' per se. Your jealousy suggests your immaturity - sorry to say. Also, you don't get it by asking for it. The upper upper boards discuss people that stand out and seem promising.

Changing DNS servers and flushing cache seems to work for most people.

Haha, yea Press Play pretty much outlined the most of it, you need to impress a member+ enough for them to "stick their own neck out" and start a discussion about it, to stir interest in the admins,

I'd personally probably define it as a cup for people who are not quite ready for members, but show signs of the qualities expected from them, so they seem to have a good chance of making it in the future if they stick around
