I propose a lite/teaser script sections that contains compilable & functioning scripts that works perfectly well for the skill or tasks it is designed for. What must be missing from those scripts are addons such as banking or quick dropping or functions that maximizes XP. Script writers can also upload a video of their "full" script in action to demostrate the script's full capability.

These scripts must also have comment blocks indicating where the addon functions are removed. This creates a certain cliffhanger that sparks interest in learning how to "mod" such scripts to incorporate these addons.

The goal of this section tackles two problems that are faced when allowing/banning antileech:

1. New users to the forums would be given the confidence that SRL is a stable community with fully functioning scripts

2. Scripters are given the choice to release scripts, but these scripts will not be abused by leechers-who would naturally run multiple copies of the same script, thus killing off the economy.

Could we not just show off scripts in the R&D Lounge? Lite-version scripts could simply be posted in the Public Scripts section.

Having it in a lite section would allow the leechers to go into that section rather than the R&D Lounge which I would prefer less leechers in

Well that's why I suggested the separation; previews of fully running scripts, state of the art, premium, ect.. could remain in the R&D Lounge while lite-version scripts are released in the Public Scripts section, which is already a leech magnet.

I suppose so but why the R & D Lounge and not just a hidden section available to only SRL members..

Raise the requirements for SRL and voila we have some REALLY good scripts coming in

R&D generally means a script is not ready to be released to public or, is in development/developing, or in an alpha/beta stage. Lite scripts doesn't come under that category

Personally, I would hate to maintain two versions of my scripts :/

Throw your banking functions in a plugin only accessible in certain boards, and check for the existence of the plugin? If yes, use the functions available in the plugin, if not, lite version :)

Doesn't even need to be a plugin, it could just be an extra include file and you could check for it using compiler directives.

But honestly the kind of people who struggle to remove anti-leech will not even be able to put a plugin in the correct directory, I think it is a moot point.

i think if you want your script to be in the lite section, you definitely not want to release the full version at all!

That would be an issue for all of the solutions stated here :p

I like the idea but with Simba's current setup theres just no way to stop a Lite version being easily edited into the full version :p

So it's not really worth it

Should merge P-Server scripts into non-rs scripts, then merge first scripts and runescape scripts, and add an approved runescape scripts section for tested stable scripts

I like the idea to have a section for kind of "SRL approved scripts", like wizzups old essence miner?, but I think merging PS with NRS, and FS with RS would create more problems than it solves

Well, a section with working scripts needs to highlighted in some way out of the crowd

Maybe bring back the JM section? I know this brings tons of debate but, full(non-lite) scripts will get more volume but won't be leeched. Meh
