As a metalhead, I hope you've heard of Dimmu Borgir and Amon Amarth? :D Or perhaps melodic metal, humorcore, or the more recent mathcore genres?

I'm actually going to an upcoming metal festival in my area even.

Yes, I listen to both of those bands, more Dimmu Borgir than the latter. The albums they did with Hellhammer were great, his drumming is awesome.

Never really got into mathcore, I really like grindcore though :D

:f: Dimmu is pretty much as big a name as black metal will ever get. Oh, have you seen Alexi Laiho live yet (the lead guitar/singer for Children of Bodom)? He's *expletive* epic! Strapping Young Lad is pretty solid too if you haven't come across them yet.

I haven't really listened to much mathcore yet, but I keep getting told about some band name I keep forgetting to listen to for them. But I'm a decent Psychostick fan as far as humorcore goes.

Holy (I don't know what words are allowed in Public…), how expensive was Slayer live? I would totally see them live if I ever saw a concert under $100 (and maybe someday even at that).

I saw Slayer and Anthrax play at Mayhem festival last year, unfortunately most of the other bands were crap :/

I've always felt like way too many people hail Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth as the leaders of the black metal scene or something, but they always seem to forget about bands like Darkthrone, Carpathian Forest, Gorgoroth, etc.

That song kind of reminds me of Bring Me the Horizon, which I don't like. I don't understand the deathcore thing.
