How Long have You Played Runescape?
7 Year(s)

Are you affilated in anyway with Jagex LTD?
No

Were you Referred to SRL?

What is your general programming knowledge?
I work very well in C. (I was lead programmer for my first robotics team and had to learn and teach a group of 5 a modified version of C)

My dad is also a programmer at the CDC and he deals with all sorts of code and I often ask him for help.

As for the code used with Simba, I have learned it over the last few weeks (at least the 07 aspects) and keep refining my general skills.

I am decent with java. I normally changed open source scripts to fit my liking because I didn't quite have the entire API for powerbot memorized.

Are you a member of any other communities?
I was with PowerBan but they became closed API so that is no more.

From: mmmvvvbbb
I am an 11th grade highschool student who is taking 4 ap classes and I still need something to do. I have always been interested in programming since I first saw some hacker movie. My intentions have changed since then. Today, I like to teach myself various coding and ways of learning code so my college coding experience will be easy. I am very interested in robotics and electrical engineering. I hope to go to Georgia Tech. (Btw I live near Atlanta, Georgia). I've been playing runescape since 4th grade so that makes 7 years of intermittent playing. Whenever jagex makes a mistake like taking out pvp or adding some newfangled attack system, I take a break from it. Luckily they have once again tried to get back their oldschool players. I enjoy the atmosphere of these forums as it is centered around learning, not just "gimme bot so i press play and earn moneyz." With time, I plan to make a few scripts for 07 and just overall learn to become a better scripter. Thanks for reading this. I am eager to learn and I understand that I dont have the most scripts or the most posts. But it will increase.

Please show us one (or multiple) of your scripts.
program Curser;
{$I SRL\SRL.Simba}
{$I P07Include.Simba}
var n, x, y, amount: integer;
var start: boolean;
procedure Learn;
begin
if (IsMouseButtonDown(1) = true) then
begin
GetMousePos(x,y);
start := true
end;
end;
procedure Buy;
begin
MMouse(x, y, 5, 5);
wait(RandomRange(20,70))
ClickMouse2(mouse_right);
P07_ChooseOptionMulti(['10']);
end;
begin
SetupSRL;
SetupP07Include;
P07_MakeCameraAngleHigh;
P07_MakeCompassNorth;
IsMouseButtonDown(1); //the command is flawed and it needs to update using this)
amount := 110; // this must be a multiple of ten
WriteLn('Double click the item you wish the buy/sell ' + IntToStr(amount) + ' of.')
n :=0
repeat
Learn;
wait(RandomRange(200, 500))
until(start)
repeat
n := 1+n
Buy;
writeln('Bought or Sold: ' + IntToStr(n*10))
wait(RandomRange(500, 1000))
until((10*n) = amount)
end.

//This is the first script that I have
//created. I also made a 'silk stealer' but
//banking is not consistent.

Expected a more advanced script after reading your intro.
This script appears to be selling some stuff after you click on the position but it's only a few lines and not advanced enough for a SRL Member application. You should also realise it is not only a Scripting Rank but also a Community Rank which means you need to be active - which you can't say with 11 posts and being here for less than a month.

Considering you are in a shop screen there is no need to put your compass north and set the angle high.

Infinite loop here:
until((10*n) = amount)
If the user does not input a proper number - which happens pretty often - the script will loop forever. Try changing it into >=. I would personally prefer this: amount <= 10*n

Could potentially misclick on the item if it's clicked near the edge due to 5, 5 random and other checks. Try grabbing the mouse position, converting that to an inventory slot and checking for colors inside that slot. People will be selling notes so you can use that color to check if it still exists and to see where you can click.

C is pretty similar to Pascal so you can definately do better. Try looking into TPointArrays, RadialWalk and SPS to improve your silk script.

Also work on your standards a bit :p

Not too worried about your standards, more consistency with the semi-colons would be nice. But overall not a huge issue.

However, I must agree with JJ. You are certainly capable of a much more advanced script than this, one that would adequately reach SRL member's standards just based on your introduction.

Also, I don't know enough about you. Hang around and keep reading the tutorials, helping people out and generally getting involved will result in a yes from me next time :)

Please check out the tutorial section to learn some scripting techniques. Also involve yourself in the community and get to know us! That is a big part of being a member at SRL.

Feel free to try again in 4 weeks. :)
