Hey friends,
I'm Valvar, and I guess I should have written an introduction earlier. I joined back when the Snellman-bots went down for a couple of script. I used those scripts for a couple of weeks, but then I gradually lost interest in the game during all the microtransaction updates. I used to play a lot of videogames (so I'm more than happy to talk about those; I don't have pleb taste) but I'm growing/have grown up a bit and real-life kinda catches up with you so now I'm more for reading good literature and actually getting my body somewhere (years in front of the computer takes its toll) than wasting my time on juvenile entertainment (no offence :whistling:). However, when RS2007 came back, that really brought back some memories from high school, so I thought I would definitely try it. After playing for a couple of hours I came to the same conclusion that I had come to years ago when I started using RSbots due to the immense repetition that is the nature of the game (I still think that the game nailed lots of things perfectly, like the quests for example, but that's a different story). Now, however, I've dallied a bit with Java and Python, and I was thinking to myself "How would I write a function for doing this agility course?". And after thinking about it a couple of times, I remembered Simba. So now I'm here, and the goal is to learn the syntax and get scriptin'. I have some pretty great ideas, so expect to see some results in the coming months (studies are bit heavy on me right now, so might be that I won't have too much free time to throw around until summer). I also work almost exclusively in a Linux environment, so I guess that if I learn more programming I will be able to assist on that department, too.
I really like the way this community is set up (much like other OSS communities, but friendlier in some ways), so I'm probably here to stay (this time!). If you have any questions about anything, do ask me. I might not be able to answer, but who said that that matters?
