Hi SRL Forums,
I'm 18 years old, currently a biochemistry/premed major (probably switching to software engineering/premed next semester) living the USA. I have played Runescape for 10 years, mainly legit with a little bit of botting every now and then, and have a pretty high level account. I love Runescape and have come back because of the 2007 servers. I respect the game, but college takes up too much of my time so I will probably be botting this time around (hopefully with my own scripts!).
I am really excited to start working on learning how to script and becoming a part of the community. When I was younger I tried get into scripting (12-13), but didn't have the patience. Calc 2 and my other classes have really improved my ability to learn so I truly believe I will be successful this time around. I have read through (and understood for the most part) the beginner tut made my Cohen on scripting for Simba and am currently trying to figure out where to go from there. Any ideas on how to get started with a script? I can understand the codes he writes fine, but I'm not sure if I am able to produce it myself. Any ideas on how to bridge this gap?
I do plan on scripting mainly for the 07 servers, but I don't plan on releasing any public moneymaking bots or anything like that. I don't want Runescape 07 to die.
The community here seems super friendly and interesting . I've been asking a lot of question on IRC channel and they've been great (although I feel like the channel is more social than for learning). Thanks a lot! I really am looking forward to learning here.
