Didn't they say that they currently have NO anti-bot system? So I'm guessing it wouldn't matter if its a packet bot or a bot with 100's of anti-ban features.

Packet botting is not really part of their "anti-bot" system. It's part of their security in general. The reason SCAR was made (which eventually lead to the development of Simba) is because packet botting was hit so hard. That was far before 2007, and it wasn't something implemented in the game, it's just part of their servers.

So, no there's no point trying?

Was also wondering if you can use Packets to exploit any bugs, like you can on RSPS'

Not worth trying, you could maybe exploit some kind of bug, but their security would probably flag you and they would ban you fairly fast, Jagex now have a very secure packet system
