Hey everyone, I’m aThirstyCamel (yes, it’s known as a bottleshop chain but I swear I didn’t know about it when I thought it up as my user some time ago!) and this is my introduction..
I have come across this site through Runescape..like I’m sure many others have. I’ve been playing Runescape on/off for quite some time, since back in 2004 together with a friend and brothers.
I decided to try out some botting software not too long after I started. The first script that I vividly remember using was a powerminer by stupid3ooo on SCAR in mid 2000’s. From there I went to Powerbot, then to RSBuddy, and back to Powerbot and have botted for many an hour. I’m quite conservative so have never been caught using others scripts. However, one time I decided to record my mouse clicks whilst fletching loads of logs and put it on repeat to find myself in an unfortunate position for a while.. Ah it was all good fun.
In all that time I’ve never bothered with any scripting myself, in fact I’ve avoided it like the plague in my recent engineering degree – so programming may as well be a foreign language at the moment. So I’m not exactly sure why I’ve decided to give it a go now to be honest..
I decided to move to this community as it seems to be a lot more friendly than say the Powerbot. Less riddled with trolls etc and plenty of people to provide help and support for others. Also being able to read through scripts created by others would make understanding and learning scripting a lot easier I’d think. I thought that with the new Runescape coming out, it would be an opportunity to be able to make a simple script and even work up from there in the future as a bit of a challenge.
I’ve read a few threads so far and it appears that Simba is now used over SCAR now. For 2007scape, would the client of preference be SCAR again? I’m just curious so that I can make a start (the tutorials look great!) on something that I can continue with… if I ever get that far haha.
