I was just watching the news, and it stated that Schools in the UK, and other European countries have just discovered that beef products in school lunches were not actually from cows, it came from Horses instead…
I find that sickening, and also a flaw of how this go un noticed for that long.

I also found out now that A steakhouse in Amsterdam has just admitted to selling Steak that was made with Horse Meat for the past 63 years?

Stuff like this is crazy, I think European Countries need a good/better FDA like we have here in the USA

Lol your post just reminded me of when I learned that word in the 5th grade and how Upton Sinclair wrote the book, 'The Jungle', which exposed the meat industry back in the early 1900s :P

Meh, I don't like to eat horse but eating cows pumped full of growth hormones and stuff? Doesn't sound as good either.

A lot of food these days isn't what is advertised on the tin - it's cheaper to wack in random stuff and make more profit… I personally don't see an issue with the horse meat.

The issue is that they haven't said there's horse in it. A lot of people aren't worried about eating it as long as it's safe, but they'd like to know they're eating it.

Reminds me of a short-aired McDonald's Ad, saying, "Try our new chicken nuggets, made with real white meat!" - posing the question, what was being served prior to white meat in the chicken nuggets?

The horse DNA was detected in some burgers produced in Ireland, it was really small quantities, but everyone lost their minds about it. Since the first discovery, a few other factories were found to be the same.

Horse meat is actually really nice, and it's the last of your worries when you actually look at what's in a beef burger.

Threw main reason everyone is going crazy is because of how long it took the FSA to pick up on it

Only a small amount haha I think you heard or rerad wrong the meat contained a small amount of bute which is horse painkillers not good for humans.

Also 100% horse meat was found in findus products I made a thread about this afew days ago myself

Also the uk has the one of the best fsa standards in the world using a passport system so every piece of meat can be traced back to its origin the meat that was contaminated / wrongly labeled was done so in france where 100's on tons of horse meat was labled beef by accident ( yeah right ).

Well its just a cultural affair. whats the differences between cow meat and horse meat? they are both animals. Where I live horse meat is really expensive but nothing illegal. just my point of view :)
