Today marks seven years since I registered on these forums. I've not posted for a few years, I've not really been active for even longer but I thought I'd drop in, say hi, give a short update and see if any familiar faces are still around.

I can honestly say that Scar, and SRL have led me to where I am today. When I started making scripts all those years ago I was amazed how I could just type things in to the computer and watch it come to life and do things for me. So when it came time for me to decide what I wanted to do at university, I didn't really have much of an idea… but I liked the programming I did for Scar so I just took a shot at Computer Science. Three years later I graduated with my degree and since then I've been working here and there, travelling around and spending time enjoying life with my friends while I'm young. Funnily enough I even had an interview at Jagex although I was unsuccessful. I'm not going to go into detail since I'd rather they don't figure out who I am but honestly they're all top people and it genuinely looked like a great place to work.

Now I'm looking to go back and further my education, I'm applying to do a Masters in Computer Security. Hopefully I'll get an offer and that will decide the next part of my life, if not I have a few ideas about what career I'd like to pursue for a few years.

So thankyou to everyone on Kaitnieks.com for always welcoming noobs and giving a safe environment to people wanting to learn more about Rs cheating. Thanks to Fakawi, Wizzup, Dankness, Flyboy and all the other founding members of SRL for keeping Scar cheating alive when Kaitnieks had to leave us. Thanks to all the developers past and present who have taken SRL to where it is today, and finally thanks to all the community members for sticking with this place. It's amazing to be able to come back after so long and see it still going strong.

7 years.. :) Good job on getting your Computer Science degree, I'm currently in my first year of IT/Computer Science. SRL had a big influence on that decision aswell and everything has been going great, I'm one of the few that passed all exams :P

A master in computer security seems interesting, I'm still pretty clueless what I want to do after my current study. I hope you get accepted and are capable of completing it :)

I'm not really sure if you still want to work for Jagex, it seems like the employees aren't that satisfied with their jobs for the last few years.

Wow that is awesome, you actually had an interview at Jagex! I'm sure there are a few others who have gone down a similar path studying computer science.
