How Long have You Played Runescape?
7 Year(s)

Are you affilated in anyway with Jagex LTD?
No.

Were you Referred to SRL?

What is your general programming knowledge?
Pascal,GML,Ti-basic(lol),a little bit of java not much

Are you a member of any other communities?
I am no longer a active member or any of the communities listed in my last application

Tell us about yourself…
From: rjj95
This is going to be pretty close to my last "tell us about youself" :)
I am 17 and I am interested in general programming. The first time I ever messed with anything was in the 7th grade me and a couple friend's were messing around with batch files and we got on youtube. Then I moved on to wanting to make my own RSPS server and I messed around with sources most I ever did was add Armour that worked like dharok and added my own custom models.I did not put Java for general programming knowledge above because I can only edit programs and do not fully understand it. After I took a break from RSPS's I got into botting for Runescape, the first bot I ever tried to use was SCAR in like 2008 on a noob account. I could not get any scripts to work because I was getting them off of freddy1990.com, and no disrespect to that website but the forums were almost dead. Then I found powerbot and thought it was so amazing how I could minimize the bot and play and how it knew were the coal was etc etc. I did not script much on powerbot but maybe a modified miner to fit my purposes, and a modified green dragon killer to kill revs(picked up vesta's,statuis, and other items and baked).Sometime after that I quit RS and started playing some RSPS's and theiving was extremly slow on one of them so I learned about 'simba'.A couple members of the community helped me build up a basic script but I gave up. At this time I was honestly ignorant about simba, I thought all it could do was click a color on the screen and that it was complete garbage and could get messed up easily.After that my friend introduced me RSbuddy, and that was the first time I ever botted on my main, I used IdungPro(I used my friends RSbuddy account for it)I never trusted any other script due to somewhat high ban rates. Then of course there was the bot nuke and shortly after January 2012 I quit Runescape. I started playing soulsplit, I played it legit, until one day I collected like 6000 charms. On soulsplit you have to use each charm on a obilisk and it's a pain in the ass. So I started back up simba and modified the stealer to use charms of the obelisk. Then around October I started to really learn about Simba. I'm not going to go into details about like a 2-3 month learning period. Pretty much I went from learning how to pick colors on the screen, to clicking colors in certain areas, adding extremely basic fail-safes, to finally knowing how to add procedures, then to learning DTM's Bitmaps, TPA's (with uptext) making my own basic includes, using some SRL include, adding anti-bans, painting on S.M.A.R.T, using uptext and choose option.

Please show us one (or multiple) of your scripts.
Here is a Runescape copper Miner+Banker. It earns around 35k-40k GP per hour, it is good for making a bot army and training your bots mining here until 60.

I currently have to fix a couple bugs with it, but it is better then the powerminer.

Seem active, granted it's in a subject (private servers) that I greatly prefer not to have involvement in.

You appear to put a lot of effort into engaging with the community, time (with respect to knowledge) into scripts, and want to learn.

I vote yes; what helped me decide is that you want to learn, and that with combination of aforesaid details, by me, about you is my reason.

..::Also about the scripts applying w/, I'd work on reducing the needless wait's (wait click, wait mouse/etc), finding little things that can add up like begin begin (in your miner), forgetting semicolon's, etc.
..::I'd recommend using the script parser built into simba for ease of standards (at least when sharing scripts)
..::For me the private server script didn't do you any justice in this App; nor did I look at it (I think they're even ignored for the most part in a SRL members app anyways?)

Anywho, keep learning,
Lj

It's going to be a no from me, you're active around the forums and such but I feel your scripting isn't quite up to par as what you would expect for a members application. Try looking in to walking that would always help your application, I like the use of TPA's and a bit of the DTM's. Bottom line: The script is decent but still too simple. Keep learning though you have potential.

I'm pretty sure this line in your first script is an error:
  L := High(ObjATPA) MarkTime(Counter);

The scripts need work, but you are quite active on the forums. I'm gonna hold my vote for now.

I agree with pretty much everything that's been said so ill also be holding my vote for now

My advice is to show us some more there is still time to add more to this application like mention read through your script again see what can be improved add walking to your miner use sps , radial walk or OBJDTM or a mix for failsafe we love reading more exiting stuff and we don't get much of if.

Goodluck and ill check back tomorrow.

I'm fixing problem with sps I'll add banking to miner

2013-02-02 10:31:48

Because I'm only been a member for a few days, I wont vote until I feel I understand the process better. I do have a suggestion though. A power miner doesn't need much in the way of failsafes, but it would be nice to see that you can use them, so try adding walking and banking, because this would allow you to demonstrate that you know how to use failsafes effectively.

Just my two cents, :)

Those two shouldn't really be on the same line though. You don't even have to use L:
MarkTime(Counter);
for i := 0 to High(ObjATPA) do

It prob did that when I used the parser to format the script

Well now that I've had time to think about it, I'm gonna vote no. The scripts are pretty simple for a members app. When I was voted in, my script was hardly members material, but I got in because the voters at the time knew that I had a good attitude, was active and helpful around the forums, and knew that I was willing to learn. They said that scripting abilities can always improve with time, but attitudes rarely change.

So setting your scripts aside, I can't say that what you have contributed so far is worth an automatic ticket into members.

I'm going to vote no. I'v put some thought into it, since your last app theres improvement. However I still think you're not quite there yet. However you are quite close, keep working and by the next time you can apply, I reckon you will be worthy(We'll see ofc, I can't tell the future ;))
Other reasons I have voted for are things that aren't quite right.
I like the fact that you made a rs script instead of just a rsps, as it allows us to see use of our include (Which I don't think you use enough of). I would of also of liked some walking even if it was only sps or radial :)

2013-02-02 15:51:15

No from me. You're active, but when you apply for SRL members it's to show that you have an extensive knowledge of the SRL include. Your script may work fine (haven't tested it), but it doesn't show much about you knowing the SRL include.

:) but it's a good start. And you're active, so try again in a bit and show us what you know about SRL.

1- You have no proggy longer than… 28 ores? Make sure your scripts are stable before you apply else it really doesn't look serious.

2- Once again, my main problem has to do with your work ethic which improved a tiny bit last few months but still ressemble "ask now and think later". As long as this behaviour lasts, I'll have to keep on voting no.

3- Your SPS paths are extremely long and have way more points than needed. Just letting you know so you can save some time.

4- You have some strange things in your script. For example:

MMouse(RandomRange(X - 5, X + 5), RandomRange(y - 5, y + 5), 0, 0);

You're adding a variance to something that could get randomized with the next two variables…

5- Your script is extremely simple and lacks failsafes. Add failsafes and more ores to be mined.

6- I love this though: "Wait(1583 + Random(3293));"

7- How wonder just how much of the script is written by you. There seems to be a lot of pasting without crediting.

8- Narwhals are godlike creatures.

Thought we used L := High(ObjATPA) cause it's faster. I read it somewhere on this forum.
So it's better to use L := High(ObjATPA) (talking about miliseconds though lol)

I believe what is researched is variance and some randomness making such a thing quite useless, but I admit it has a technical use =). My bad. Thank you for pointing out my mistake.

Yeah its so it takes away, however I would properly do it like this:
MMouse(X - 5, y - 5, 10, 10); not that it would make a huge difference, just looks nicer to me.

First application - Scripts arn't complicated enough, understandable 100% no

Second application - Too many private server scripts 70% no

Third application - We don't like your Runescape script, even though its 2x more complicated then your previous ones. 80% no

It seems like I am better off making private server scripts considering I don't play runescape?

Make Runescape scripts - Nobody will use them because of poor anti ban, and will get turned down with them anyway

Well I guess that's too bad, to be able to become a member you have to be able to show you can use the SRL include, not be able to script for a RSPS. If you feel like making a script for RS is a waste then there is no way for you to be able to show that you have the scripting abilities required to be a member. And with that mentality I really wouldn't ever vote yes.

Why do you really want to be a SRL Member? This is a community for scripting/botting on Runescape and maintaining the SRL include.
You can still make your own scripts for private servers and share them or ask for any help if you need.

Now you know how us reflection devs felt when we completely revamped the reflection include only for Jagex to completely change how their client works and break reflection shortly after.

Please don't complain. If you don't like the process of updating and optimizing your code repeatedly (which isn't just a Simba thing, this is how it is with all software), then maybe writing code isn't for you.

Never even voted, just now saw it.

You do realize that it could take more than a few applications to get in, right? Every time you apply, you're given helpful critique on your scripts, giving you advice on where you could improve. The first page has a ton of helpful content.

I would have taken it and improved your skills. You're getting better with every application.

However, with this "emotional" display of being "hurt" won't cut it. You need to grow up.

Stop the whinging on both sides.

rjj95, you may apply again in 2 weeks (instead of the usual month) if you feel ready, but adhere to all of the advice given in this thread. You may not even get in next time (given your recent display), so what? Try again after that. You'll get in very soon if you stay persistent and kind.

Also, don't create another account again. Next time you'll end up banned.
