One must ask how did he get through, there are some serious flaw in that security and that security must be questioned, there must be someone working with the dude

And did you see the look on the minister guys face? He looked almost prepared and then scurried like a rat.

Then the guy got the poop beat out of him, placed back in his buttox, and beat out of him again.

I could see a gas pistol jamming as im sure they arent made to the standards of regular guns but still. Non-Lethal! I realize from up close it could be damaging and in the EU where there are stricter gun laws, gas pistols are more 'common', but if the guy really wanted to kill him, wouldnt he have taken the time to get an actual gun with actual bullets?

TL;DR, im not buying it. imo, it was staged.

(but… lets wait a day or 2 and see if anything shows up on snopes… though, if this was staged, i feel as if that information would never surface.)

Gas pistols are still pretty deadly up close. That's why I think the assailant came so close to him, because it would only be deadly at close range.

I doubt it would be staged because there seems to me there is no motive to doing this.

I agree with Rincewind. What political agenda would you achieve by letting the whole world knows that there are people that hate you and would give up their lives to exchange for yours? Unless there is an election going on and someone actually assassinated from a distance, which would make the opposition party the most suspicious (like what happened during the 2004 TW presidential election).

Also from the video the assassinator is wearing a lanyard, so i suppose he smuggled in as a security personnel of some sort?

He had 2 knives, it was the fact that he was so surprised that it didn't work he fell into small shock and then panics slowing him down and by the time he realises he flopped he gets taken down

It was just loaded with pepper spray, and it wouldn't have killed him if it had worked.
Still, very scary. I was surprised at the people beating him while he was on the ground.

Reminds me of the Boondock Saints when Rocco is sent in to kill the meeting of mobsters with a 5 shot revolver only to realize after there were more than 5 people and he was actually setup and meant to die. Maybe this guy was sent to 'kill' the dude, but was given the gas pistol thinking it was a real gun.
