New type of bots can get a monster tag 100% of the time...

I have been casually killing Grotworms for a week(botting), and I have been able to get the tag and kill every time… But the last two days, there have been these "new" bots, in royal dragonhide armour usually, who get the tag instantly, every time, it's unbelievable, and I have not been able to beat them.

Check this video out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnKMEx2z8_k

Notice how he reacts the exact moment the worm spawns, wth!? To me it almost seems as if… it's 'hacking'. Is it possible they're intercepting the draw call before the grotworm shows up on screen and generating a mouse call back to the runescape server?

Go try and beat them..

EDIT: First post :duh:

Maybe a longer video with some normal speed footage would help.
Maybe you click too early was registered as a walking click and your 2nd click was processed afterwords.

Anyways, I'd just go check the injection bot forums (EpicBot and PowerBot mainly) to see if there are any scripts that do this.

I highly doubt they are sending or receiving information prematurely, just doing it super fast, which with injection isn't terribly hard. Sucks if they are populating many servers/many good spots though, sorry D:

Maybe you're just lagging like hell?

Thanks, I will research it further. The way he reacts instantly like that just has me stumped.

Forgot to mention, 35 ping, I specifically chose the lowest server so I don't think that's it

Well the advantage with simba scripts is that it's more human like, with injection bots I don't think there is any variation/anti ban, btw whats so good about mature grots that bots are there?

I'm no expert but noticed a few things.
Since you're spam clicking rs is probably registering them as walking, even though your on the same tile, it takes up time/frames to do. While the bots are just clicking once ASAP once it spawns.
Second thing is that you are standing ON the tile(s) it spawns on, so when you click you are forced to move to a tile where you can attack it from, while the bots are already standing on a tile from which they can attack it from.

Hope they don't overpopulate some good areas! Just switch up servers and hope you get lucky, or train some other way good luck.

Low ping + no wait time when scanning for non-tagged npcs?

I will work on a tagging method that would be similar to what the bot in question is doing, and record that as well. We'll see how it turns out. :)

And yeah, I hope they don't overpopulate as well.. Mass botting didn't bother me all that much, because I was at least able to kill monsters if I needed to, with help from bots :P But now, this is just ridiculous, there's no chance. If this instant tagging spreads and no one can kill any decent monsters, I fear for the future of Runescape…

I believe the average human reaction time is around 200-300 ms. Bots can constantly loop through ID's until they find it and click it straight away. With an extremely high mouse speed and/or guessing where it will spawn based on previous locations they can click it within 10 ms.

You can't beat that as a human.

riwu

2013-01-17 05:39:38

Yeah like what JJ said you can't beat any bot due to human reaction time, even a simba script can be much faster than human too since color finding is extremely fast too.
Also when you spam clicked you actually beat them? So they could be coded to spam click like you too? (to be less bot-like)

If you are on a slayer task, just do the normal grotworm, since both powerbot and epicbot has developed a grotworm bot. Reacting is what bot best for.

ping is the last thing to worry about if lagging, normally FPS is the first thing..

that video is super confusing as I can't tell what speed is etc

this as yoho said, your not standing in the right spot

Standing on that tile doesn't affect it - whoever clicks first gets the tag, not whoever hits it first

EDIT: Undeniable proof that they are doing some cheating to get tags:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPdaShcBVi4&feature=youtu.be
(full speed version after the slow mo)

I made a tagging function that will instantly tag the worm.

* Notice, he is not facing the worm, so he has to turn around and walk one tile before attacking, so where you stand has nothing to do with it.
* Also note that the little graphic that pops up after you click it(under your mouse pointer). You need to wait until it is finished for an action to be made. How is it that the bot is acting instantly?
* I am on a 34 ping world, Runescape runs in 600-millisecond tick intervals, which means it is not lag.
* It can't be PID, because these new royal wearing bots are all able to get tags like this. Unless there is a new way to set your own PID, which I doubt.

I am forced to conclude that, as my previous theory states, they are somehow generating a mouse call, or, "action" call. It seems to be, they are not clicking, simply sending the command to attack.

Thoughts? Theory's?

Packet bot? Kinda reminds me of how AutoRune worked.

This sucks for the legit players. I still can't understand how Jagex could ban all these maxed players yet miss the hundreds of obvious bots.

Anyways, are you sure the bot can "hack"? I never heard of that happening before… But then again, I'm not an old-timer.

My guess is that it's this:
http://www.powerbot.org/community/topic/860695-premium-lilygrotworms-pro-high-profit-low-requirements-eoc-supported-quick-and-efficient/

…allows unbeatably fast combat that not even the Goldfarmer's scripts can compete with…

And in recommended gear:
Armour: Full Void ( B )/ Royal armour

And in recommended gear:

I purchased LilyGrotworms (two days ago) to test it - dos not compete whatsoever, in fact I was at 20k/hr after two hours of running, and that is from loot that the other bots don't pick up. The stationary bots are not Lily. They are decked out (main, non mass gold farming)bots that run around the entire cave and essentially assure faster kills for the mass farmers, that's all Lily can do now, and he/she refuses to comment on this fact, saying that it's "user error". If you check the Lily thread, you'll notice no one talks about the worm script anymore, it's basically a hub for the new QBD script.

I would ask for a refund but honestly it isn't worth the time.

It's unfortunate when you get a grotworm task and you're forced to go with the lower xp option, being regular grotworms. When I went through from the third floor to second floor, I took about 20 minutes to get a kill. 20 minutes before I beat one of them.

It's a shame.

Yeah exactly this.

However, Why can't jagex spot this? surely someone clicking them perfectly and nearly instantly every single time is highly detectable?

I gues their macro detections are really that bad huh :p

Thats really interesting. If it manages to spread to other Spots then there are a whole host of problems that will occur.

Yah I don't know why Jagex haven't hit the most infested spots… Hm

Did you hop worlds? Just add tones of random people in members worlds before hand and hop instantly, add bots they will be on most of the time if their private is on
