I threw this idea together real quick too see if it would look good:

It doesn't looks as good as I was hoping it would, too cramped up… figured I'd post this in case someone good with graphics can take inspiration from it in some way :p

Looks good, simple but effective
+ just saw your doubt about it, yeah you could of spread it out a bit more…it is a bit cramped and there is tones of space available , make it less height and more width but only a tiny bit, its your height that is too cramped rest is fine

The idea looks good, it'd be nice to see the simba logo back on the top ;)
I see you point about cramping but as Mr says, it shouldn't be a major Issue.

I like the simple design now, without anything in it
what about changing the icons, would that be possible? The icons make the forum look extremely generic with the bloated ugly icons imo.. maybe just orbs or something would make it a lot cleaner

I'm sure that as Hobbit works on changes, a newer/better logo might come into play :)

maybe the lion head should be colourful! that would make it look cool. btw, is it possible to change favicon to a lion head or is 16 pixels too little

As far as I know it is possible with the Favicon but with the main logo the way it is that would make no sense. I don't think colourful is the way to go, the new sleek look works well but if something similar to runaway's logo is implemented then the favicon idea would make sense (maybe not coloured?)

Is that a lion head? I thought it was a burgerler or something :|

Rofl that's the head of simba, you can see it on the home page as well xD

What about adding some shadows, so one can see the lion's mane and such? Looks awesome now, but confusing at first look (especially if you're not used to the Simba picture)

well, i guess shadows would make it better, just the outline is really hard to tell, which is why i suggested some colours.

The current width of the logo is as big as it can go (needs to stay compatible with other themes).

I ran this up in PS…

Reckon too much detail left on the head?

Aye, it doesn't fit the simplicity of the rest of the logo.

Maybe limit the shadows to one grey color (forcing yourself to be vary of where you put the shadows, and making it as simmple as possible)?
I like it, though :)

I like the current one, actually.
Side note, are you still going to use the landing page I made? :3
