EDIT: updated, found a pc and ordered it. Check my last post out for all the info!

Well as many of you know, I am hardly active here anymore. I quit runescape mostly because I like granite mauler pures, and the fucked pures hard =p. Also it was taking time away from my friends and girlfriend.

But within the last 6 months, my girlfriend and friends started playing World of Warcraft.. in which I am now addicted. Anyways so I have a laptop that just shot the shit.. but it was only a $300 cheapy HP for school that barely ran WoW on the lowest settings so.. i'm not that upset.

I will soon get my refund check back from school, and I would like to buy a decent gaming lap top. I'm not looking to by a 1000-2000 laptop because I don't have that kind of money :p… but I was hoping you guys could help me out. Also note that I do know that I can get a good gaming desktop for half the price of a laptop, but I need a laptop as I have several 3 hour blocks where I play wow on campus and frequently travel to my friends house to play. Here is what i'm looking for..
-500-800 Dollar range (I know this is a hard budget to meet.. but I'm in college and can't afford a REAL gaming lap top.. but want a decent enough one if i'm going to drop $800)
-Doesn't overheat… (last lap top get massively hot and always shut down so I had to jerry rig it on books with fans … etc.)
-can run wow smoothly on medium settings, preferbably on high settings

I've been linked to many that were out of stock on new egg, etc. Here is one I am interested in , but please give me some suggestions:

Ohhh and this one could save me $100

and heres MSI :) :

Save me $80 from two above, and is still i7 but lil less graphics. Still favoring the MSi though

This one sounds like a SICK deal for an i7 with those specs, but it's refurbed. I don't mind buying refurbed at all, and usually buy all my apply products refurbed.. but the reviews about all the warrantly / power cables problems scare me. Worth a look?

Going to wait for other users to review my links above and post their own advice or links. Hope you all can help!

I would go for the MSI 15.6" one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152377)

Best performance out of all except the HDD is a bit slow but you can always pick up a 128gb ssd for 100$ or something in the future. Oh and it's a 15.6" laptop which is the best to take to college. Big enough screen to properly see what you are doing yet not as big as a 17.3".

My laptop has a i7 3610qm (3630qm in the msi one, newer and slightly better) and a 650m (~15% better than 645m) and runs games like GW2 on 1920x1080 at around 35 FPS on medium graphics.

1920x1080 sports two times as many pixels compared to 1366x768 (screen on that laptop, most 15.6" laptops). So you can expect to run WoW on high graphics with 60 FPS I'd say.

Wouldn't suggest getting a refurbished laptop, and it's 17".

The Dell for 799$ comes without a graphics card (dedicated intel graphics 4000 though, which runs most games pretty good at 1366x768 medium settings)

Yeah I really want that MSI too… Now it's a matter of talking my girlfriend into going for the extra $200 above the 600 price range I set :p. Id freaking settle for $200 right now for my account linked to sell just to afford my lap top lol.

you could try getting one of those laptop cooler things to keep your laptop cool, those are pretty easy to find nowadays. Don't think they cost too much too :P

Well actually haha, you can't walk 10 ft without seeing someone playing wow. Everyone does. Even good looking girls lol. By I generally don't let people see me play, and put my back against a wall or go to an empty study room, to avoid noobs asking me to add them :p

FYI, don't go with Intel 4000 HD for gaming, not even for WoW. I have it and it sucks.. that's why I bought a 670.

Edit: or any other integrated Intel graphics. ;)

Just decided to update this. I usually don't buy things in store, especially at Best buy since they are notorious for overpricing everything (seen things go up or down $20 daily..) but I found a best buy exclusive PC that I had to get. A few friends that play wow got it and they love it.. there are comparable versions sold for the same price of 599.99 at places like walmart and office depot but they have 640 hard drives instead of 750 and don't have the backlit keyboard (<3).

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+ENVY+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+6GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Natural+Silver/6819205.p?id=1218808163771&skuId=6819205&st=6819205&cp=1&lp=1

Got me a •HP ENVY 15.6" Laptop - 6GB Memory - 750GB Hard Drive

Had the things I wanted like the usb's/vga/num pad, as well as decent specs:
AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M Accelerated Processor
AMD Radeon HD 7660G discrete-class graphics
6GB DDR3 SDRAM

Also was happy for some of the extra goodies that you usally have to pay extra for ($50 pretty often for the backlit..)
-Built-in fingerprint reader
-Beats Audio
-Backlit keyboard

and it had the Brushed aluminum finish in natural silver, which is much less prone to finger prints (which annoy the piss out of me).

Was nervous about the..
Windows 8 operating system preinstalled
But after reading numerous reviews, I hear it's a LOT better than 7 after you get used to it, and the little bugs it does have are being continuously updated daily.

Overall a pretty damn good lap top for $600 bucks. Unforunately had a miserable too long to post experience in store that led to me having to order it… so I'm waiting!
