Botwatch is hitting pure essence botters pretty hard. I've been monitoring pure essence for a couple of hours and I have seen at least 5-10 botters there banned. The ban announcer outside the Varrock bank is constantly announcing bans so yes Botwatch seems to be working in certain areas. So opinions on botwatch?

Took them long enough, But it's good to see JaGeX actually trying for once :)

my opinion, dont bot where its a well known place where java bots are. dont bot too long on same skill. and if you wanna be super cautious dont bot at all. legit quests or etc etc

Try to avoid popular places and change to lonely place, even if you get 5-10k xp less per hour.

Not a real problem for me at the moment but if Jagex implements botwatch on on the entire game we are fcked.

Good on Jagex. Java bots are the real issue, alongside goldfarmers. But those go hand-in-hand…

Keep going Jagex.

I believe this is the best, honest effort I have seen on Jagex's behalf, I applaud them :spot:

The most scary thing of the botwatch is that they ban you when you enter the dungoen right away if you have botted before. I saw some of this thing from the powerbot

If Jagex got rid of more bots, people might take their game more seriously.

Its just a team of/mod(s) going around popular places handing out manual bans, i dont think we are in alot of trouble unless you are bot level ashaman and need to 24/7 mine :p

Botwatch is atm aimed to address the rants of legit players on rs forums. Ppl rant the most about things that they notice the most => bots that directly compete with real players are most often noticed => have higher ban rates => if you are going to bot then do it in a way that is less disruptive to human players. e.g. dont make bank in lrc, use scroll of cleansing instead etc.

IMO, the only reason why we don't have mass bans is because our community is smaller and less known. Plus our scripts are not used as often so less people with same mouse clicks AND scriptors here I believe put more effort into anti-ban and the like.

That is true, although I think that might change. I searched "Runescape bot" on YouTube last night hoping to see people talk about Botwatch, put the filter to sort by upload date. Saw more videos posted about Simba than about PB.

seems like they havent hit wc yet hopefully get 99 b4 then.. only 83 thouhg

Was your ban simba only?

How is runespan ban rate? is it Botwatch acticve there?
