2) People should get IP banned depending on severeness of crime (I know it is easy etc, but putting it into place will require them to actually put in 5 minutes of effort to get back here)

3) Disable clickable link posting for people with under 10 posts. This would basically make it so those spam bots are not harmful in anyway (Cause even after they are banned their threads are still open, and I imagine those sites are not safe)

4) Rank update/re-look/discussion needed etc. (Read the first page)

5) More themes, current is getting dreary -sin

6) Group Projects

Maybe just another between Jr and Member ?

Thought rather between SRL Member and Senior SRL Member, but something that functions with an application.

I don't believe we need a rank in between the two we could possibly have different SRL titles. One would be community member the other would be scripting member; as it is quite clear some of us don't really do both cough myself.

I don't know, SRL Membership was something I looked up to back when I first came here, and that gave me an objective, which motivated me to learn to script. Now on the other hand that I've stopped playing, I'm scared of seeing the time I spent learning to script in SCAR going to waste.

Tbh what happens when you reach that new level :p
Have to find a different way to motivate yourself, the only time I really script is when I need something for myself… I know selfish but I don't like publishing scripts because then I am expected to keep them up to date, and I don't really enjoy disappointing people.

As for SSRL - how is that even decided now? No idea lol. But also different SRL Member classifications would be cool

Would indeed be nice to have something you can work towards. Right now I'm personally in the situation where I do visit SRL but I'm not writing (new) scripts very often anymore. I'm not sure how you can get SSRL Member, I guess you just have to be activate over a long period (multiple months) and have good scripting knowledge.

More competitions would be nice. But that that has been increasing.

In general I would like to see us (SRL Members) working together instead of individually. I would really love to see a SRL Member Project where we work together to create a script. Not something like Dungeoneering but just in general maybe a couple scripts that are high quality and able to get long progress reports in. Updated and maintained by multiple SRL Members.

Example:

• Mage Training Arena
• There are four activities so those can already be split
• Each activity can also be split
• Etc.
• AIO Fighter
• Working with multiple people every attendee could work on getting the perfect colors/setup for different monsters.
• Being able to select one of the pre-made monsters or putting in your own colors in a Form
• etc.

Making a list of members willing to participate, then gathering posts to see what kind of script would be popular. Then splitting it up and assigning a task to each individual participant. Having a time limit of around 4 weeks to finish your part and gather each part in a thread. Then combining everything together and tweaking it. Then releasing it somewhere, either Members forum or Public forum.

Sounds pretty interesting I'd say.
Anyone up for it? Opinions?

I'd indeed like to participate in a group Members project. Something like gathering item info would be a favorable part for me :)

I am bumping this could an admin take a look at this? A few of these things can be done instantly and would make the forums dramatically better (Especially the one about the RS market :p)

@SSRL there will never be an application for it. You have to be selected ;)

However, if you want something to apply to above SRL Members, you can apply for the Developer rank. There is no form, you must PM a staff member with your application and they will post it in the developer section. Format? Thats upto you, if you want to be a developer you have to be able to think on your own ;) Just make sure you think it's good enough for a developer application :)

@ Other stuff,
Most of it is already on my to do list for the forum transfer. (This saturday, announcement to follow in a few min)
It would be done already but when we import the more uptodate database it would just overwrite those changes so there is no point.

@ Themes,
Agreed, and the Satellite theme for vB4 is terrible so we are not going with that. I have already found a nice christmas theme for next christmas :D Will be disabled until christmas (new forums). But if you find a theme you like, PM it to me. Please no all black or super dark themes.

Suggest them, I just personally don't like most of them. Doesn't mean they wont be an option though.

Don't think there are any active projects right now. Some people used to work on a Dungeoneering script but that was never finished.

I'm going to look for a few group project options now and might make a new topic to see who's interested and in what script :)

I think the first aim should be to finish a full script that is less complicated instead of working on a huge, complex project like Dungeoneering.

I am not referring to specific scripts like MTA, dungeoneering or clue solving as such. Rather i prefer if the projects were to involve making better fight detection, path walking then leave it up to community scripters to put them together

This IP ban thing could hurt innocent guys. People using dynamic IPs get them from the same pool of the ISP. You would punish everyone the same, almost not at all. It takea probably 1 min to setup a one click proxy.

With the IP issue, I think that an IP ban would be counter productive for the reasons Gala posted. Also, if a ban evader kept their IP, admins could track them easier to determine if they were ban evading. Just my thoughts.
