If you are planning to bot these skills over this weekend till Monday, January the 7th, think twice before you do.

Dungeoneering
Summoning
Hunter
Construction
Farming
Slayer
Runecrafting
Agility
Thieving
Fletching
Fishing
Smithing

Jagex is currently holding a contest to see who will gain the most xp in these skills over this weekend.
The winner will win spins, vanity items, and other stuff.

People have signed up for this, and they are looking through the tracking sites, so Im just giving a caution that reports and names will be passed onto the HLF/Jmod chats

Wow, I wonder how many are going to get banned this day.

I'm still going to bot just like I usually bot… 5 or 6 hours a day max. It's not to much for them to be able to track me

Hold a contest to see who can gain the most XP, then ban the botters… Those crafty bastards.

They can outsmart them in the short-term, but Jagex needs to come up with some long-term java-bot-breaking changes to their game.
(Good luck stopping color XD)

I dont think the other sites are aware of this, we should be expecting some 'Banned' threads on monday on their forums lol

Thanks for the update! I won't be able to bot anyways lol. So I'm wondering, since Jagex is going so active against botting, how should we do it? I'm thinking of only doing 5hours a day max.

Yeah It started about 5 hours ago
Im guessing seeds, runes, planks, logs, and bars will go up this weekend since a good amount legit players might actually go for this

If they can track and ban botters so easily, they don't need an event; they can do it anytime.
There's tons of people botting every day, and not many people are going to bot more simply because of this, so it's not going to make much difference for them to just track u on an ordinary weekend than to hold a contest (and warn the botters?). Also you will need to sign up (by posting on the forum) for them to track you (probably to save storage), which would not be required if they intend to track every botter.

After a little thinking, I think maybe the reason they hold this event is to test out what the maximum exp can a legit player gain over a week. This will be a really helpful info for detecting bot.

The worst thing is that I had my private off and then my friend comes a long and says hey, I log off to another world, he finds me again and says hey luckily I was babysitting at the time and talked to him, then I said I DC'd haha and left, so lucky :p

Ar first, I thought that too. But I think this event is just something for legits. Tracking XP? So normally they never track XP? That is useful info :)

Be aware that rs is all about playing as long as you can possibly can; most addicted legits will play well over 8 hours a day, so when properly challenged -like now-, they will easily outplay bots, no?

Please note that players aren't automatically join into the competition, you need to sign up on the forum first, and I think most boter won't sign up for this event. So by tracking only the exp gains of the players that have joined competition will give Jagex a very accurate infomation.
