Hey, I've been using this program that allows you to chat with multiple people around the world simultaneously, not "chat" like msn, aim, ect… but talk to people with microphones. I've used ventrilo for a long time and I really do enjoy it and it keeps me connected with my friends from other games around the world, and I was thinking that maybe it would be easier to collaborate ideas through ventrilo and make better scripts and get better solutions by talking rather than typing. I know some people are shy about "What people will think about how they sound" honestly who cares?! I certainly don't and most people *if their good people* don't really care how you sound. Just thought it would be a good idea worth mentioning because me and my friend own a server and i thought I thought I might as well invite some peoples XD…

and download the Windows i386 - 32bit version and install.

Create a username and then click on the -> next to servers.

Server Name - TheBasementDwellers
Hostname or IP - 208.100.29.23
Port - 3934

Channel -

SRL - Forums
Password - scar

*After you get in the server join this channel and type in scar for the Password*

Don't set a password, unless for some reason I make you an admin on the server but if I do I'll explain that later.

Get in and go to setup and check "Use Push to Talk Key" and type a key.
Talk and enjoy, I'm normally on there as long as I'm awake. XD

How do you know I use Windows 32 Bit? ;)

(It might be because of the fact I cant stand most Linux distros, but you didn't know that)

Uhh I just assumed that most people use 32 - bit and thats what I use. And its not hard to follow I've gotten into a ventrilo server with 30 people in the same room and we could still discern who's talking.

I wonder how hard it would be to code a C++/Java text->speech miniapp and hook it up with a voice modulator?

Might I wonder, why ventrillo and not teamspeak?

I think Ventrillo is much clearer than Teamspeak. I'll check it out.

And it's much more easier to use. I love to use ventrilo. It's so simple.

Umm… I use Skype, just for one on one calling, and the quality is really amazing considering my internets been lagging a hella lot recently.

It's super easy and it supports up to 10 people in a chat, which might not be enough if somehow every srl person gets on at once :P

Joined but… uh… I don't think my mom would like this. (doesn't like me talking to people. Would probably ground me for being HERE!)

It's just because I have a ventrilo server, i used to use Teamspeak for Ultima Online, oh and to for a C++/Java text -> Speech I have no idea, but I've seen it done.

Once you learn peoples voices it is easy. For WoW I've been in a channel with 40+ people and I can recognize >80% of them by name.
