Using Win8 for 40 minutes now and my head hurts. . .

Entered a stupid settings window on my desktop that full-screened. Then I was stuck between the stupid metro and full-screen settings screen. WHere the fonk did the desktop go?

Strg-Alt-Del + Opening task manager more than I want to right now. :fiery:

Fuck Win8 and annoying metro interface. Where is the right-click? I tried for 10 minutes to delete pictures on Metro that they took from my hotmail account and failed. :duh:

Feels like I'm using 2 different operating systems at once!
1.Normal user-friendly Windows
2.In your face metro
3.Random full-screen BS ESC ESC ESC crap not working BAM i just killed myself
>>Re-boot then random picture of mountains appears/?!?!? I have to click to get to password interface great!
Then I can type in my pass grrrr.r….and then… FREAKKING METRO STRAIGHT UP. oh gawwwddd Please help me before I shoot myself.

Sorry for rant.

If you want to close any windows related to the metro screen, take your mouse to the top border and drag it down, it'll close it.

It's really easy. Just press the windows key, then you can use the desktop function. Now your problems are solved.

Take a look at classic shell.

Basicaly it helps turn windows 8 into windows 7.

StartX is a good start button to have if you don't feel like dealing with the metro interface. I've gotten used to it by now though.

To make the normal windows interface similar to windows 7 get StarDock, it adds the start menu back.

:| I don't like the UI in particular. it but it is faster than Windows 7.

Thanks for all the advice and Happy New Year!

That being said…not all of it is bad I'm actually starting to like some features that weren't there in 7. Still don't get the point of Metro, but I'm planning on sticking in there so I won't be downloading any extras. Win8 it is for now and once I mastered that and given it justice then I'll see if I still want a start button. :p

Use ClassicShell.
