Mod Jacmob trying to break bots?

I found this yesterday at world 31, yanille.
Bots/legit players train prayer at the house parties that are thrown, and out of no where, zombies come out, on christmas day…?

Jacmob handles more the low level side i think, Brandon will know more on this. i got told that when brandon whilst he was debuggging the client for OGL purposes the client actually crashes or something of the sort if paused for too long. Convo if he doesnt mind me posting…

18/12/2012 01:08:10 Brandon do you see that jaclib nanotime query?
18/12/2012 01:08:16 Brandon it's their debugger checking crap
18/12/2012 01:08:24 Kasi :S
18/12/2012 01:08:28 Brandon checks to see if you paused for a certain amount of time to debug the client
18/12/2012 01:08:43 Kasi block jaclib.dll?
18/12/2012 01:08:45 Brandon jacmob's crap LOL
18/12/2012 01:08:48 Brandon u can't
18/12/2012 01:08:52 Brandon RS will not run if it cannot find that

Jacmob always does this kind of stuff. Should have seen our citadel when he first became a Jmod.

I think I still have a convo with him from mumble about their "new" bot detection. Ill see if I can find it after work.

If I was him, I would have summoned npc's on botters too. Did any botters died?

Am i the only one who feels completely stupid every time i read something brandon wrote? ;)

He's looking through the RS client code, using a debugger (which people normally use to test if a program is working properly, in this case he uses it to look at the compiled client) when you pause it it stops the program from doing everything, so you can look at what line of code it's on, and what all the vars are (at least that's what it is in C++ I don't know about java)

I'm not sure what he's doing with OGL(openGL), but it is a 3D library that handles displaying 3D objects.

And apparently the client won't run if you remove the anti-cheating DLL.

Oh wow! Looks crazy.

Interesting. I assume it broke the bots then?

Not as much c++, hes just debugging OGL, basically looking at what calls are made in the OGL API i think.

it hasn't broken anything, he just can't debug as well.

Were the zombies aggressive, or did they just get in the way lol

Jake

2012-12-26 17:06:12

they got in the way, not agressive

It's not Halloween. Go home Jacmob, you're drunk.

They let him interfere and just spawn stuff like that? Interesting business strategy…

Maybe no one was at the HQ on xmas day, and he decided to go on a spawn-spree ;)

They are all allowed to do this if they want. Thats one of the Jmod powers they all have.

What happened to the good old days when JMods didn't interfere with the game and only showed up to investigate glitches but never interacted. I miss the good old days.

Never in my life have I ever seen a Jmod. I feel left out.
I've seen mutes and stuff from Pmods, and I've seen that semi stupid dragon hand pick up a bot.

Omg u witnessed the hand take me to BB, oh wait, that didnt happen, never mind, carry on ;)

Seriously though it doesent even take the gold sellers spamming website links in the chat (which linking i assumed was against the chat rules anyway? It used to be), scary bot detection algorithm is scary

It's easy to see the gold spammers get crushed, just report them for advertising websites then wait :)

Pure speculation from an ignorant man : wouldn't it be possible to "fake" the jaclib.dll or to "fake" that it's been found ?

been tried, apparently rs doesn't run if its not found.
Edit: we could try decompile it to understand it more, however i don't know the legality or how plausible it would to try it.
