Oh right, runescape is not capable of providing that, it's only good to grow epeen amongst other runescapers. Great game.
And no, reset is out of question IMO. There is just no chance of that happening.
Runescape have history, you can't just erase that.

I think instead of reset the game just start a new server? Same game except with the right changes and no bots! I think it would be a good idea! Many games already have spend new servers just like the last so I think it would be a great idea!

I wouldn't mind, but I know it won't happen.

Yeah a total reset would never happen. Jagex is very reluctant to take anything that they've put into the game out. They said after the EoC that they weren't going to go back because it would have been so much development time wasted!

I agree! I try my best never to leave a game until I beat at least the storyline! But games like these I always max!

Title scared me a little. I wouldn't mind if they let me sell my bank first. But no bots wouldn't happen anyway..

Something like this would probably make me start playing again.
I've always had the most fun questing. When my main with questcape got banned I had just finished While Guthix Sleeps. Already 3 years later the max qp is like 340? They should release more quests.

This wouldn't ever happen, ever. Although it really wouldn't bother me. My only concern is botting the game, I don't actually ever play legit.

Interesting idea but don't think it will happen. Would be nice but I, personally would not be happy all my legit work would be wasted and the botting would be for not.

Reset would make the game way more fun, but it'll get worse within the first day. Gambling will be back in 24 hours and botting back in 2 weeks, :L SRL? a day at most. But if all those things were gone, it'd be very fun!

If they tried I'm sure they could stop all the bots indefinately if not for a long while! They can already detect if you access RS through a different client so it can't be hard to ban everyone.

Mouse recorders back up in 5 minutes? :p But yeah, everything will just come back. It can never be the same. It'll only work if we have a complete memory wipe but in 10 years it'd start again. :redface:

No, None of that would be especially Gambling. Due to the fact we'd have to sell stuff at the general store to get the first bit of cash.

Isnt runescape 3 being released soon? What would be the point of resetting the whole game?
I liked how the topic was brought up by Desupty, he got max cape cape and then completionist in about 6 months.

RS3 won't reset the game. It's just a big change, like from RSC to RS2.

I think a reset of money and values of items should be implemented…
The price of everything is so devalued these days its disappointing.

I'd kinda like to start all over. If the players were closely monitored I'd work towards a realistic auto-responder. I'd kinda like to make some of the basic scripts over again. And knowing we all start at the same point (not work hours and hours and mean nothing because people are already maxed out).

This and the HTML5 update to knock out java bots would be superb. :thumbsup:

I think if Jagex actually got to it, they can put injection bots down, but not totally. But down enough that your average joe can't run a bot.

And I wonder why Jagex don't try to take legal action against Epicbot/Powerbot. It seems like they could easily win.

Maybe they can make you enter a Capcha every 2mins to keep playing, but how long real players would play with that rofl

No I mean they couldn't stop the bots from WORKING with the methods they tried! But they can DETECT if they are in a different client like RSbot or SMART with a few simple lines of code! So they just detect that and insta-ban. It would take minutes to implement I'm sure.

As far as I'm aware they cant, because the clients just virtualize the official RS java applet with a mouse, but even if they could, once we knew they were banning like that, we could change the name / identity of the client ao they couldent tell

You cant stop bots ;) if a games worth botting, there will be bots

I was actually thinking of an idea that would stop injection/reflection for awhile when the bot nuke first failed! If Jagex could just change the ID's of everything at the same time to something different wouldn't that screw up every script there was? Or if they randomly changed everyday but not so that 2 were the same?

That would probably lead to a massive amount of glitches, but that idea could work.

Wouldent make a difference because its only their stuff using it, might have stopped reflection or injection, but they cant stop color with anything like that, again if they did that anyway, developers would just find a way to get the New ID, cant stop bots :)

They would need a pretty crazy color randomizer to the point players would not want to play the game to stop simba :D

What do you mean? If an injection script had the ID of say a black dragon to say 1234 for example and if it changed every 6 hours or so to something like 2345 and then to 3456 every 6 hours just to random numbers wouldn't this stop all the scripts?

This would be great to keep the game alive and possibly bring back old players; however, A LOT of people would be pissed in having their accounts wiped out. Ha imagine Suomi's face if they did a game reset? -.-

Even though I have rares and a substantial cash pile, I'd be all for a complete wipe. If everyone went back to absolute zero, it would probably re-interest me in playing legitimately again; as it is, I really just care about autoing my F2P to max :p

Yeah I'd be wanting the same too

Not financially feasible because a lot of players would leave, and jagex would have to get new kids addicted to the game.
