So I need a little advice...

Hey guys I need some advice! Currently I'm a junior at a private catholic school and I have been pursuing an opportunity to transfer to a public school just a few blocks away. The reason I want to do this is because to graduate from highschool in the US you need to have 3 years of credits in Math, Science, and Social Studies. At my school they won't allow anyone to leave school early if they don't have a class by requiring all students to have a full schedule even if you only need like 1 credit to graduate you have to stay the entire day all year. Also for anyone in the US that knows what I'm talking about almost all public schools have changed their Quarters and Semesters into trimesters. So typically the first quarter end sometime in October and the second ends on December 21st. And 2 quarters=a semester. Now that they changed it the first trimester ends in mid November and the second goes from mid November into February or March. Then the third ends around the 20th of May. Now at my school we are still doing semesters. So I figured out that if I transferred to the public school then I would get my credits for the first semester transferred to the public school which is now doing trimesters. I would end up in the middle of the second trimester and I would also receive full credits even if i missed the first half of the trimester. So basically that means I get 5 free credits towards being able to graduate. And that will enable me to take an extra PE and the 4th yearly English credit required to graduate in the third trimester and graduate an entire year early! I like my school quite a bit but only because of 1 or 2 teachers. Many of the kids there are imbeciles and i can't stand them save for my group of friends. I started going to the private school in the 7th grade and have been there for 5 years. I went to school with a lot of people that now go to the public school and I was fairly close to them. But my school has around 220 students in the highscool and somewhere around 120 in the junior high. So it is very small and we are more like a family than anything else. But I REALLY want to graduate early and wouldn't be able to stand the fact that if next year I had to stay at the private school all day everyday for the entire year if i only need 2 credits! I am extremely smart and can cope with the extra burden I would have to bear with taking an extra 2 classes to graduate early along with having a girlfriend and a job. So basically I would like some people's opinions on what I should do! Should I stay and graduate normally or go and graduate early? If i graduated early I could start taking college courses online or on campus while working full time to save for actually going to college! Please tell me your opinions!

Personally I'd say there's no rush to start College early. Take a slightly lesser load at school, do well, and have a fun with High School. Maybe with the fewer classes you'll be able to have more time to hang out with your friends from private school and your old friends that are in public school? College is awesome, but no need to get an early start!

I can't take a lesser load. The school requires me to take a full schedule and take the classes that would challenge me the most.(Which there aren't many) I hang out with friends a lot! Atleast 2 or 3 nights a week and I wrestle for my school! Which takes every weekday from 3-6 and most tuesdays and thursdays and saturdays after school until around 10 for meets. I just can't stand going to school everyday when I know I can take better classes like AP and College credit classes at the public school which my school doesn't offer! It is starting to add them slowly but has no computer classes which I'm very interested in while the public school has a vast variety of advanced classes and especially computer classes which I will be going to college for. I've received a letter from UNO(University of Nebraska at Omaha) that grants me a course I can take through them which guarantees me acceptance into their computer program! I would love to get an early start on that and get ahead but can't while I'm in highschool.

If you know where and what you want to do for college you could try get some classes out of the way in high school for free. Their is a fee to take ap tests like $100 each but my little brother some how got his school to pay for his tests. Not all classes will transfer the way you want them to, I took an html and accounting class that transfered as credits but nothing else.

if you are computer engineering you I think if found the classes you need, you should be able to atleast attempt calculus, physics and english comp. See if the high school offers college speech.

Advice on college. You don't know how smart you are until you take the college classes meant to weed students. If you can't stand going to useless classes every day, college won't be fun academically.

It's not that I don't like going to the classes I just think it would be a year wasted if I was still in high school with no available College credit courses that i could take! Yeah I've done AP microeconomics and AP physics and Prob and Stats for College credit and passed all the tests with flying colors! I just don't have the drive to keep doing this if i don't need to!

Personly I would tranfer to public school and not graduate early, but its you choice. I believe their is a calculus based physics and a non-calculus based ap physics which transfer differently. Calculus is different from any math class you have taken before. Also try to enjoy high school.

edit:just saw your location you mascot wouldn't be something redish brown?

No it's a green and gold falcon!
