I went to sythe and didn't see the ad though, so could it be targeted ads from google? Which means you must have been visiting gambling sites eh? :p

EDIT: more info on google's vicious targeted ads:
Many websites, such as news sites and blogs, partner with us to show ads to their visitors. To see ads that are more related to you and your interests, edit the categories below, which are based on sites you have recently visited.

Fixed OP.
Anyways point is Runescape must be pretty synonymous(more or less) with gambling or garbing is becoming a huge problem on RS if gambling ads are on aRS black market website.

I have heard first-handed that those companies are sociopaths. They first provide you with free anti-gambling "help", talks, books. etc…..BUT afterwards they bombard you with gambling and squeeze all the money out of you.

Those companies are in reality a mask for gambling organisations. If you are sensitive to gambling, never leave any personal information with organisations like these.

Oooh. I thought ads targeted your cookies and thus what you search is what comes up.

For those of you saying it's ad targeting, that's not the case here.
I've never gambled on RS I don't even know how to dice :-P nor have I searched anything gambling related.

Would be more confused as to why you dont have AdBlock plus, or why you would disable to support on scamythe ;)

I've had ad block since I was in 5th grade and I'm 21 now!
It was just messed up for 5 minutes since my browser updated or something.
Us ad block guys are missing out on so many things though! Lollollol

Apparently Jagex is going to get rid of gambling early 2013. I have no idea how they'll do it, you can practically gamble on anything.

no. They said they have a "solution" doesn't mean they will get rid of it :P

I bet their solution will be driving wealthy veterans away, leaving only noobs and bots so that there is nobody who has the money/time to gamble :p

But if they really did want to stop it, just make gambling a muteable offence. Just go in the big gambling fc's and mute everyone for a few days.

They would just use more spam bots to advertise their mains hosting

yeah but their mains will be muted. meaning they can't host unless they xfer, which they will. then after so long jagex would giveup because the problem would be too widespread.

I don't get how they can stop it at all.
Isn't most if it IRC based? They have roll bots and do most of their talking in there too plus forums.
All that's really done ingame now us the trading pretty much right? For diceig at least, there's also flower flaming.

But I don't know how Jagex can stop all this off site stuff.

The dicing clans at the ge use in game items like flower seeds. When you plant them, a random colored flower appears. Or dices itself of course. I don't know why jagex added dices after the big flower gamble problem.

I'm saying even if they stop the ingame stuff, f tons of clans just use dicing IRC scripts to do it anyways. So I don't see how it can be stopped.

Also I don't see why people care to much. If people want to to gamble against their odds and lose money, and if hosts are making bank doing it, who cares, it's not against any rules. Everyone is just mad and jelly.

I agree to the second part.
