Got lucky, and landed on a Dragonstone Purple Present.
Sold it later in world 2 for 30m
And decided to give some money to Benny afterwards ;)

Dang! I just used like 150 spins I've been saving forever and didn't get anything good besides a bunch of pendants!

May I ask what is special about dat purple present again?

You combine it with the other 4 types and you can claim a christmas tree hat which is going to be an ultra rare holiday item based on how rare the present is and how few people have them! It's tradeable and will only be available to get in the next few days!

Barely a few months after the fish mask is discontinued Jagex releases another rare via SOF into the game? The future for these rares look dim to me. I bet they will never even reach close to the prices of the "true" rares like phat or santa. But I may be wrong.

I assume it's mostly a ploy to create a panic about them to get people to buy spins in the hope to get one!

Everyone's going to buy the presents and then buy the hat, realize that it looks plain weird, sell it all, and then people with loads of geepees will hoard them so they never raise in price. I'm basing that off what happened to the fish mask.

Actually the hat doesn't look half bad! Much better then the fish mask anyway! It takes a lot longer for a rare to raise in value!

Although much like how partyhats are obtained through crackers I would advise anyone with a purple present to get at least a set of the presents and then you would be able to either sell the present set or make the set into a hat depending on which is more expensive! Just a thought!

My guess is it's alch price or the convert to coins option in SoF… I have 23 of them from 150 some spins so they are extremely common!

Not much
The set of colored presents, except purple, is worth 500-700k together at world 2.

I guess so. The biggest issue I see with these kinds of rares gaining price is don't some gold-farmers make hundreds of trial accounts for the spins so they can sell the winnings? Saw a thread about that here a while back.

Yep! I was debating whether to do that or not… It doesn't seem worth the effort to start now considering it requires a huge number of spins!

Only way to get the hat is by trading by others, or getting all 5 presents and using them on each other.

Convert values for the other presents besides purple are low, trade value isnt much either.

So the trial accounts with daily spin thing has become less used after the summer was over.

And from a picture I saw a few days ago, getting a members item on the sof in a f2p/trial account, has a very low convert value (1 gp - 10k), or simply a discard item or subscriber to members choice. No convert, probably because jagex got aware of the farming.

Yeah but if one is lucky one of their trials may get a purple and can be used to get a hat or sell the purple!

Well the presents are in game until January 14, lets see what happens to the price of them and the hat then ;)

I see people selling greens for 300k

The F2P presents really aren't worth anything now that we're a couple days in, so I think once they become next-to-worthless in a few more days I'll just hoard them and get a metric ****ton of mince pies XD

Nice idea lol Can you sell the pies? If they heal a lot, they may be useful for f2p. I honestly don't know, I'm so broke right now, not used to it :P

If the wiki is to be believed, they are untradable and heal 800 LP each (lobster). You get five from sending a blue/green box, or 15 per pair of both. No real advantage over buying/fishing lobbies, but I just want a ton of pies :D
