Dungeoneering Bans

Jake

2012-12-18 20:08:29

Happened to a friend of mine earlier this morning. He was 110 dungeoneering.
He botted dungeoneering over the 2x weekend, getting about 5m xp.
I wonder why they were after people who botted dungoneering, when they could've focused on LRC or other bots.

Guess they were bored and knew people would go for dung on X2 weekend

Edit - do we have proof this wasnt just a 1 off?

Jake

They Probably wondered why someone would want to solo their floors during 2x weekend, when they could be getting way more xp when doing it with a party of 5.

Is it a coincidence that all of the bans I've seen recently appear to be manual?

The bot its self had some problems/bugged/made the same errors since it was not completely updated for eoc.

Wow, Jagex stepping up their game. And I was going bot fishing this entire weekend, not too sure now. And was also think about hitting the range guild for that 99, but I don't hear anyone ever saying thats a ban hotspot anymore.

Well its his own fault for using a reflection bot in the first place, and IIRC, not even fully hooked yet!

Good. Glad he is banned. Stupid for using a reflection bot in the first place.

Well I don't know if I would have worded it that harshly, but I agree with it's quite foolish to use those bots anyways.

As always I strongly recommend staying away from such bots, but if you really must lower yourself to that level and use them, be smart about it.

Was it iDung or Master?

Prob iDung, I saw another player like this after claiming to have only used iDung.

I used iDung over that weekend and got around 4.5m exp! Your friends' must have been a manual ban because I have a few online friends that did the same thing and haven't even been infracted.

After re-reading that, it might come off harsh, It's more likely to be like: "Well its his own fault for using a reflection bot."

I noticed they haven't got the hooks down! I see a bunch of people complaining they can't see their precious xp counter on a proggy… Jagex didn't release a counter or anything for just that!

If you use a bot that isn't 100% ready for the public… You are almost asking to be detected

Yeah I realize that! I almost always babysit my script for a few hours over a few days before letting them run when I'm not there! iDung is the exception now because I really wanted the max xp I could get over the weekend! Sorry about your friend getting banned by the way Jakee!

Justin

2012-12-18 23:05:56

Not sure if I should bot over this double xp weekend now as I don't want to really risk my account :S

Chris!

2012-12-18 23:47:27

Not botting this weekend. Like Justin, I'm not risking it. If they can find dungeoneering bots (I know, I know, they're injection), then they can easily find fishing bots. :/

I soloed floors during x2 weekend, I done it legit though, soloing is far more easier than getting another 4 people and dunging with them well it is for me anyway since they raised xp in soloing whats seems better

That depends on how they detected the injection bots dungeoneering scripts. Some methods they might have used to determine that they were botting could be used against a color-oriented scripts as well.

You can bot, but I would recommend babysit it. Just in case.

The Killer

Good game jagex. I must say - You played your cards well :D

THey were easy to detect because they werent using the action bar and they weren't dunging in groups.

Not that many people do dung in groups anymore since xp got increased on soloing, alot of people choose to solo mediums. However the ones banned were mainly botting long hours.

Yeah mediums are the ones can do them in 20mins and don't have to worry about someone leaving or dying or leeching or what not

iDung is probably a awesome script but I guess their botwatch system thingy will start seeing patterns when maybe thousands of people use the script at the same time.

That's why I don't want to use PB because so many people must use that one bot so just to be on the safe side, you can bot 24/7 tbh with simba and never get banned but you risk getting banned using a pb script imo

Isn't there suppose to be a warning with temporary ban for like 2 weeks or something before a major ban which is permanent?

Or you friend already got temp banned once and this was the second time?

There is no official banning rule for jagex, sometimes its temp and then sometimes its perm

I did solo's/duo's over the weekend because I refuse to have to work with a part of 3-4 other idiots.

When they implemented the botany bay update - they changed it to a 3 strike system (don't know of anyone that has a strike though)

Maybe Jagex view botting dungeon is an activity of gold farm, since frost dragons are heavily botted by gold farmer.

That's a pretty good idea, cut them off at the source.

For a lot of people too dung is one of the last skills they do to max/ use in everyday life so there is high demand to bot it and thus becomes highly visible.

SO maybe it is the business model of Jagex. since the people that want to max their account will very likely keep playing even they received the ban hammer. So trying to banned them will allow Jagex get few more month of subscription from botter :f:, since they will need to bot the account to max again.
