im getting this error

just installed simba again and ugh fk. now java just launches and closes and when it launches the cmd window pops up with the attributes

Close Simba, delete settings.xml, re-open simba

Drop down to Java 6 JRE and make sure its in your path.. (Ill get you a link)

I'm going to assume you have {$DEFINE SMART8} at the top of your script? (second line)?

honestly, no clue,

1. uninstall simba
2. delete EVERYTHING simba related such as smart
3. uninstall all java versions
4. restart PC
5. install java 6
6. restart PC
7. install simba and update to smart 8.0
8. restart PC
9. try a script

if not working, format your hard drive and repeat steps 1 through 8

if it still doesent work then, buy a new computer, then repeat steps 1 through 8

im not formatting and I have done that already. It was working fine till I uninstalled java to replace with 6. Getting 7 back still doesn't work?!

you will have to uninstall simba and re-install if you remove java, or atleast restart your PC,

you can also try setting your computers java path, go look in the thread for a guide

BTw ill repeat. The java cmd window pops up with the /help for java then closes, so all its doin is launchin java.exe

I have jre6 defined in my path, should it be jdks bin?

I iterally just restarted and posted that!

Ok here,

Get your scripts folder and place it somewhere safe.

Uninstall Simba, Uninstall Java 6 & 7.

Reinstall Java 6, Reinstall Simba

Forceupdate all.

You should be on the version of Smart before 8 and have a fresh simba. Chuck the scripts backin.

You know what. I've fixed the Smart Cannot Spawn Clients problem, but your raging again. I'm out.

its when a script tries to launch a smart client…

follow that guide fully, if it doesent work and what we have suggested already doesent work, then you are not following our instructions correctly

ok now im getting a type mismatch at line whatever and that line is

I havnt got smart 8, although I just downloaded the binaries because I got some error in the source, so here we go

Im still getting the error from before, spawning clients, because, and listen to this, the java.exe window pops up with the info as if u typed java into a cmd window then closes.

Do you have a windows 32 bit or 64? If it is 32 bit, probably a simple fix.

Are you still getting "cant spawn clients" in the simba debug window?

If your on w8 64 bit, have you tried java 6 opposite version of what you currently have? Try 64 if on 32, try 32 if on 64

I would say is uninstall all forms of java you currently have, and download the latest x64 version from here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk6-downloads-1637591.html

Then reinstall Simba. That is the sure fire way. Boom. GN Danny.

We already been through all the java reinstalling lol, if none of that works, i'm at a loss, time to put my phone down so I'm not up all night anyway, Gn Rez, Gn fish, hope you can get this resolved :S

It is in C:\Simba, ill uninstall java, AGAIN and install that link. im running out of net only like 1 gig left

Im getting that because its java 6

I fixed the can't spawn clients error by re-copying the files for SMART8 back into C:/Simba/Plugins and overwriting everything. It worked then.

What about running a script on a Non-Smart client and then closing Simba. Could that have caused this?

Nah It was working till I uninstalled java, because of losing focus.

We spent like 2 days trying to help him, he just raged And raged at us, ignored our troubleshooting advice, Justin took time to help him on TV
