When I play on rich accounts I get bored quiet often and just log off/bot. But now, I'm starting over with a less than 1K total, I've been chopping legit willows for over 10 hours while chatting to people… but I'm happy? How is this possible? I thought the rule was the richer you are the happier you are. But now walking around with 75K in money pouch, having the make your own necessities for skills makes me happy. Having a goal to aim for such as your total level rather than money.

That's fine. Being rich allows you access to anything you want, that's tradeable (other than buying services). But now you're not, you have too get things yourself and make your way up the ranks again.

Researches have shown that 'Happiness ranking' of countries does not follow their respective PPP-adjusted GDP per capital at all.
So, it's not a surprise that you are happier when you become poorer, or that someone poorer than you is much happier than you.

Happiness is mostly derived from the satisfaction of wants. Since wants are unlimited, even if a person has all the money/resources in the world, he will still not be contented. (Furthermore, there are non-material wants that cannot be attained through money/physical resources)

Yep I guess having no money and actually having to work for stuff enables you to do something. All I did before was stand in G.E and host/gamble. :l

I've lost at least 1b to hosting/gambling some dude picked every single h/c correctly 20x in a row cleaned me in 20m bets was like daffffuqqqq :| not a single ryb fell that day :( but yeah when you have money you don't want to use it well I hate using my money on skilling but now I want to 99 the high costing skills I'm doing it, 100m on construction 70m on prayer and herblore need another 75m more for extremes and overloads but hopefully few 99s there :)

I guess doing skills makes you happier. As there is a goal (level 99). While with money you can just expand until forever and ever.

I think I'm off to 99 the easy skills like the ones you can pay to and only takes a few days, I've done the mining 99 so I know what it feels like to watch my xp go up very slowly just the rest now!

Yep but I remember why I play this game. Used to wake up at 6 just to chop willows. :) For a goal.

I don't bot excessively. I only bot in the times that I would've played making it seem more logical. I bot while having the client up on another monitor and talking to other people and friends. :)

Exactly what I am doing right this moment, SRL on the lappy and botting on the desktop :cartman:

That is why I hate my main :p, I like playing on my new account though!

Personally I love having money. I can fletch, firemake, craft and do anything without the fear of running out of cash.
Having 100M makes me feel secure and successful.

Lol 99 prayer is very affordable now, back when I was getting 99 prayer it cost me 320m (frost bones).

The thing is, I'm not going for prayer or herblore or any money wasters. The thing you guys don't get is that there are alternatives to expensive skilling.
Construction - teletabs
Herblore - cleaning herbs and flipping them
Farming - Almost everything in farming is worth more than the seed.
Crafting - Urns in the crafting guild.
Prayer - don't buy your bones.

All of these take more time than expensive routes, but will either save you money, make you money, or not cost anything at all. These are the things I do.

How exactly do teletabs level construction? Thought they only give magic xp

Cost me 350m x2 because I got it on another account too… Killer.

Most of us would rather do the 99s quick than to save money, I tried to do the money saving way but I just gave up was too hard, I've only had my account since I came back to RS and I'm total 2100 soon before I had an account from 2004-2006 and It was only level 876 lol F2P was so boring that's why I quit in the first place

That is 100% identical to my opinion. I just had a really huge stack of money and rares on my bank on a few accounts but never played the game itself. It was all about making more money. I just logged in gambled my way up or down. When i got higher you could say that I was happy and on the opposite if I lost cash i was mad and logged.
Before EoC I thought I would quit as I did not enjoyed the game anymore. So I staked all my money and others away. After EoC I had like 1 mil left and I really enjoyed going up from scratch again. Not with the focus on money more like getting my skills up again and working on my last skills to max cape.

So the game is much more ejoyable if you set your focus on talking to friends, setting goals in skilling (it is definietly a goal aimed game) and try to reach them.

Yeah, that's called playing a game, it's supposed to be fun to play.

1) Teletabs are magic xp only…
2) cleaning herbs was great but was nerfed after eoc (can only get 4k cleans /hr )
3) No comment on farming, as I'm a noob at it :D however I believe you profit off livid farm +30kxp/hr
4) no real comment on crafting but like you say, theres ways of doing it cheaper

oh yeah I forgot about the use of construction with prayer, 75 construction should only cost like 10m maybe 10m for the altar or you could get a friend to do allow you to use theirs but they have to be in the house themself

i have money and its fun to have but playing legit is fun aswell… well sometimes. maybe ill start a new account and try it out

I used to have bils through gambling, but I got cleaned one day and I started my new account and earning all the money I need to max it through legit methods has been really fun for me.

I want to be rich and I'll keep trying but I have to admit that havin goals and trying to achieve them feels good to me.

It is so easy to get rich in runescape lol. Just bot some kind of money methode every day and you should go you way up very fast. Then if you got your amout of cash go through merchanting / flip merchanting. Voilla.
