''Runescape Gold Prices have plummeted and the botting software is not up to par''

An interesting read why this VPS closed down.

https://vpsinfinity.com/

VPSInfinity.com is shutting down indefinitely.

Due to the decrease in the demand for Runescape Virtual Private Servers (VPS) - VPSInfinity.com will be closing it's doors. For a variety of reasons, it does not make sense to continue the service as is. For those of you who still have a service active with us, links to the our payment portal and VPS control panel are available below. We will not be accepting any new customers, however invoices have already been sent out for the following month - If enough choose to re-new, then we will keep enough servers online to serve those customers for the duration of their billing period; however if not - then we will refund those customers.

Your questions - Our answers:

Why are you closing down?
Since re-opening our doors earlier this year, we've noticed from the start that there hasn't been nearly as much of a demand for our services as there was when we started initially back in 2010. Runescape Gold Prices have plummeted and the botting software is not up to par with what it used to be - driving away potential customers. Resources spent on VPSInfinity.com (Mainly, our time) can be better spent creating something new, and exciting!
What do you mean "indefinitely"?
We mean indefinitely. Who knows - maybe things will really take off again and it will make sense to put things back into motion. Until that happens, if it ever does, we will remain closed down.
Do you suggest any alternatives to VPSInfinity.com?
Check out the list in the "Other" section on PowerBot - There are a few other, lesser known sellers there - I can't vouch for their quality, but hopefully someone will pick up the ball.

Special Mentions
There have been many customers that I've really enjoyed conversing with during our times of operations - And many others that helped during testing and optimization. You know who you are - and you're always welcome to get in touch with me if you need me.

Contact Information
For those of you who would like to get in contact with me directly - please feel free to hit my personal Twitter Account @thomasjbiddle. Also, if there are any questions left unanswered - please feel free to send them to me on Twitter and I will both reply as well as update this landing page.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Really everyone, thank you for your continued support and loyalty to VPSInfinity.com over the years - without your suggestions on how to improve our service, recommendations to friends, and extra things such as YouTube videos, guides, and reviews we would have never gotten to be where we stand now: Over 1000 unique customers served! Have a great day, and best of luck in all of your gaming adventures!

They also might of lost a lot of customers because of their pricing? (not sure how much they were charging)

yeah they're expensive (but very good quality) and more and more vps companys "dedicated" to botting keep poping up.

Botting aoftware not up to par >.<

Who dey callin not up to par

Why would anyone buy a VPS when you can just use your pc and leave it on for like 1/20 the price / month

The price drops because jagex are killing their game, and nobody wants to play it

I'm pretty sure one of the main things killing the game is the sheer volume of bots

i dont think so, its always been like that, its just these days nobody actually plays the game, just the bots, once the gold price is low enough, even they will be gone, and then what will jagex do

what games could become the focus of SRL if rs was to die completely? :P

Any game pretty much lol
Rs wont die, it will just continue to shrink forever … like other games such as maplestory

if they can get it working on HTML5 mobile device's, maybe it will turn around (probs not unless apple support 3D rendering in OpenGL for the Ipad sometime soon though)

IIRC they said that RS on mobile devices wont be linked up to the live game (Somewhere on a livestream, don't quote me on this)

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. Don't get it for the RS experience. My friend bought one and it can't hardly even support him woodcutting in a secluded area.

your talking about the surface RT, not the pro, the Pro is not released until next month :)

the RT runs windows ARM based mobile Operating System, making it crap,

the Pro runs Full Windows 8 and supports all desktop windows applications (so they say)

edit - not getting it for the RS experience, need a laptop solution for programming, and i thought it would be interesting to try RS

Hey, who knows?
Maybe when gold drops so low that people don't bot for it then legit players will start to trickle back. Not the current players maybe, but I could see it happening.

Then bots come back again. This is a tug and pull war…

yeah but some people (mainly young kids :P) don't have the botting power
also many gold farmers (e.g. IronHide from pb) use vps as extra botting power on top of their primary computer (ironhide has 20gb ram and properly another computer or two and still had vps')

I'd say the reason for vps's was for goldfarming in that case, so all bots had a different IP

Chris!

2012-12-17 17:05:52

Some people have bad internet, like myself, which consistently get over 800ms ping on all servers. That's the reason some people get VPS' and goldfarmers get it just because they can have 30 bots going at once (powerbot -.-) all farming the loots.

yeah, but he used peoples accs on powerbot and gave them 40% of the profit.
so he properlly had about 100 accs going (I believe he has about 50 maxed accounts. he is big on 24/7ing)

So I'm guessing the prices from people will be cheaper.

EoC stuffed gold prices up basically, just wait it out they will rise once again everything rises over time

Seems to me like the trend even before EoC was announced was that prices in-game rise and gold prices fall. In a game where you can create currency for nothing (see: alching) gold prices will pretty much constantly fall. TBH I don't see prices going back up any time soon.
