FindObject(); broken?

Hi guys,

I've recently opened up simba again. Seems somehow when running a script, the FindObject(); function doesn't work. Are those broken due to the new portal (ship) update? It doesn't find the bank and just hovers over the bankers in Varrock West Bank not doing anything, eventually shutting down SMART.

Thanks,

Eduard

To be honest with you, I don't know the last time those functions were updated. I recommend trying SmartColors.simba. It can be found in Simba/Includes/SRL/SRL/misc/. The last time I used it it was amazing. :)

E: Here's a guide on using SmartColors. http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52915&highlight=SmartColors

It looks like it's an uptext issue, try putting more into the uptext part - it does have an uptext parameter right?

Uptext is the problem imo. I have had problems with several finder functions that use uptext. My solution has been finding a suitable snippet of uptext that never gets detected wrong. Add a few lines of code for the uptext:

Wait(2000);
GetUpText;
Writeln('uptext is:'+(GetUpText));

now, after running the script several times, look at you debug messages and find the combination that fits best for the current script.

always guna be a unreliable function as long as its bitmap based imo, we need a right click return text kinda one, more safe

I've been having some bother with uptext recently too. Have Jagex made any changes to their fonts for the uptext that will require a revision of our uptext functions?

P.S. Gonna try this method to get the best uptext for checking. Thanks

Hmm, I haven't. I hope no revision is needed.
