I'm looking to up take a project on the following.. (posted below) and would like to know what IDE/language to start experimenting to make the idea/project with.

Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Idea/Project:

• open icon off desktop,
• program accesses web url,
• if url requires login and details it will login,
• upon logging in it will redirect back to original web url,
• then it will grab two int values to see if class is open or not,
• if int values show that less people than max class people size then will notify via sound alert for 5 minutes.
• would also be nice if this was opened in a window in task bar so could see a ``progres'' report (ex time running, time since last check, times logged in)

Python, Ninja-IDE or IDLE
